Excellent breakfast...

...at which we once again accessed mails – now to find that chum Lindsay has had a ski-ing accident and is laid up in hospital with a pelvis broken in two places and a fractured shoulder...

Her mum and dad, Lex & Moira are visiting my mum tomorrow...

Traction scenario apparently – not great news...

The day continued however, with a drive over to Harrogate – today was really the only “holiday” day of the trip...

We arrived around 10 and took a look around the town centre...

A visit to HMV resulted in the latest by David Guetta and Coldplay entering the collection...

Meanwhile, while I admired the architecture and statues...

...Anne acquired a pair of faux-leopard skin pumps...

A walk through the town past the war memorial...

...and Betty's Tea Rooms...

...again admiring the architecture...

...we made our way to the museum at the Royal Pump Rooms...

...and its very interesting artefacts from as long ago as Egypt in 2,000 BC...

Then, we took a long walk and got a bit lost trying to find our way back to the tea rooms...

Good pic of this blackbird for no reason in particular...

We ended up at the Cafe Tartuffo...

...for some tasty sustenance...

...before heading back to the centre of town...

..and back to the car for the four mile drive to nearby picturesque Knaresborough...

...with its railway viaduct and fine river views...

...and its castle...

...and old houses...

...and its entertaining ducks...

...and chirping robins...

...and enjoyed a late lazy lunch on the riverside...

...before driving back to Skipton for a lazy evening including more beer and wine followed by an Indian at the excellent Mastab's before a late walk around the town and home to bed...

Highlight of the Day : Knaresborough...
