The beetles, not in a good way...

Spooky coincidence re today's Track of the Day, "On a Clear Day", one of my all time fave CBQ pieces...

I usually come here via google and, this morning, as I went to update for yesterday, I came across this on Youtube...

"an MTV tribute to cloudland blue quartet's heart rending interpretation of the song ON A CLEAR DAY"

I had no idea...

Very nice thanks...

But, just to clarify, it's not a cover version..

Meanwhile, Meg has a new place...

A day of sorting stuff...

Word from Jamie Frain that we will play the Kilted Pig on Saturday 21 April, five weeks yesterday and, these days, five weeks goes past in no time...

We will put together a new 45 minute duo set of covers with rehearsals to start in early April...

So I got organised today re covers I kind of know...

My list comprises songs by:-

Alanis Morrissette, Alice Cooper, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Brian Eno, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Dar Williams, Depeche Mode, Dido, The Divine Comedy, Eagles, ELO, Elvis Presley, Gary Glitter, Grandaddy, Joni Mitchell, Killers, Mick Ronson, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Roberta Flack, Roger Waters, Roxy Music, Stereophonics, Van Morrison and The Velvet Underground...

Not exactly populist...

Anne was off to the derby today with Hearts, once again, triumphing over Edinburgh rivals Hibernian by 2 goals to nil...

Yesterday, Queens were thrashed 5-0 by Partick Thistle down in Dumfries...

Bleak...

Meanwhile I took Meg the Black Cat to visit her previous mum, Julia...

Meg is right at home here, given it was once her home...

We enjoyed some spicy roasted nuts to Julia’s own recipe, a copy of which I have taken...

Back home and the big tree is still looking good against the blue sky...

Some mucking about on the PC, before heading to Jane and Bobby’s for a Chinese takeaway in honour of Anne’s mum re Mothers’ Day...

Kitty has a new Panda...

The Chinese was tasty and was followed by fresh fruit (and ice cream)...

Ironically, Bobby was demonstraing his "tech" with a Beatles track ("Octopus's Garden") when panic ensued and the berries above remained untouched, due to a small real beetle being spotted therein by Olly...

The wee beastie was duly escorted from the premises by me and Bobby...

Home for more listening pleasure re a new 11 hour Recent Acquisitions Jukebox playlist, drawn up today for the car - with all CDs having been removed...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : A new gig in the diary...
