Up at 5:40...

Another month gone...

Meg the Black Cat helped out in mucking about with the stats on the CD list...

In total, we're up to 6,716 since 1985 - roughly 5 a week for 28 years...

Too many, many would say...

Oh well...

The breakdown is:-

Rock & Pop 4,798
Jazz 970
Classical 948

Here's the spread of the classical single composer discs over the various eras (which doesn't count single artist multi composer discs or multi composer compilations)...

Looks like I'm a contemporary music man...

..and here's how, for "popular music", studio albums over the decades have moved from jazz to rock & pop - plus how the various compilations, collections, live albums and singles are shared out between the two...

I probably have far too many from the 90's and 00's...

This is how I waste my time...

Post this, some time spent sorting out what was salvaged from Pam's CD collection - including a number of burns of "popular" compilations - i.e. "Now That's What I Call Music" - from the last few years and, frankly, enjoying this pop music at full blast...

The art of the single is well demonstrated by this medium...

Driving around today (to the podiatrist, taking Anne to her mum's for the football, visiting chum Keith, collecting the Chinese) was soundtracked by a Killers/Brandon Flowers singles compilation I did for Pam while she was living at our mum's, before it all went completely downhill...

It was in her portable CD player when we came to sort everything out...

She loved Brandon Flowers...

The collection rocks...

So, yes, today, mostly arseing around at the PC as usual but a few trips outside...

Feet dealt with by the lovely Helen first thing - croissants collected for breakfast...

Early afternoon, Anne was off to the footie - a 3-0 win for Hearts over Aberdeen while QoS won the six pointer against Ayr and are now within striking distance of both Raith and Ayr - although they remain bottom...

Popped round to drummer Keith's house for a couple of hours mid-afternoon to pass on my and Anne's condolences re his lovely wife Angie who passed away while we were on our trip to clear Pam's house...

Happy tales of celebrational funerals but also much talk of cancer and comparing of stories - it seems we have both been through the wringer over the last 18 months or so...

A good old chat and we vowed that we will resume our musicking soon, most likely with Jamie...

Back home and a "happy go lucky" compilation of CBQ tracks over the nine song albums put together as another possible freebie to go with the new LP later in the summer - reasonable first try out - some tweaking re inter album volume levels still required...

In the evening, the afore mentioned Chinese was collected from 5 mile away New Happy Palace re their excellent Kung Po Chicken...

"Dirk Gently" was enjoyed, while one of the "Man from U.N.C.L.E" films ("The Spy With My Face") purchased last week in Hemel, was reasonably enjoyable but, to be honest, did not stand the test of time very well...

The music was good though...

Some footie and off to bed well after midnight...

Highlight of the day : A visit to a good old chum...
