The time of our lives...

Cloudland Blue Quartet – Track of the Day
“The Time of Our Lives” from “Anotherhappyday” (2003)

Playlist
Alice Cooper - Easy Action
Various - Edinburgh to Hemel Playlist

Today, the track a day project moves into the fourth CBQ song-based album, "Anotherhappyday"...

Take a listen...

Up early and last minute prep for the trip to Hemel to clear sister Pam’s house and have it put on the market...

Left Edinburgh around 9 am and drove to the top of the M6 stopping off at Gretna Green for coffee and a scone and a look round...

Fairly depressing...

Someone was getting married at 11 on a Monday morning...

Back on the road and left the M6 at Kendal and headed east through some lovely countryside to Skipton, our base for today and tomorrow...

Checked in at the Woolly Sheep Inn...

...but the room wasn’t ready till 3 so took a look around the town centre and visited the Skipton Museum with its many local artefacts, including a Shakespeare collection from the 1600s...

...and a hippo skull from, presumably, some considerable time ago...

Freshly baked pasties for lunch before heading back to the Inn for beers by the fire...

Then, up to the room, before a walk around the canal and along to the castle...

On the way back we met some chickens...

Bought a William Burroughs book, which was enjoyed back at the Inn, with more beer and wine in the bar...

Tonight we dined in, enjoying some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever tasted...

To the room for some telly and managed to get a signal from nearby wi-fi...

On accessing my mails though, some very sad news indeed regarding Angie Apter, wife of my old chum and Capital models drummer Keith...

Tried to get word back to Keith that we won’t make the funeral on Friday, as we’ll still be in Hemel dealing with Pam’s affairs...

A very sad end to the day...

Highlight of the Day : Yorkshire scenery...
