Up at 6 or so and writing this up manually in a notebook...

Breakfast around 8:30 then more clearing...

Three big boxes of photos found in the attic and sorted through...

By the time we were finished we had three piles - one to take home, one to give to Paul re his family and one to go to the dump...

Some of the pics went all the way back to when Pam still lived with my mum and dad in Loanhead in the late 70's...

Eventually we had almost 10 big black bags of stuff to go to the dump and another few to go to the Cancer Research Shop...

You should never have to throw your sister's stuff into a skip...

Heartbreaking stuff...

Home, and a welcome visit from chum Debbie - who enjoyed looking through the pile of "keep" photos...

Some emotional moments...

Pam's ex-aunt and her brother popped by to do some work in the garden...

After they'd all left, it was back to the charity shop, then the dump and then time for a break and we drove over to St Albans for the afternoon...

...to the Cathedral and park area where Pam and I spent one of her last days in England...

Lunch was, at Debbie's suggestion, at Ye Olde Fighting Cocks...

...and very nice it was too...

The weather was roasting as we walked on to the park and the lake Pam and I walked round six months ago...

The wildlife was as entertaining as ever...

...muddy beaked goose...

...and the schoolboys were out running again...

...and the swans were as white as...

...the ice cream we enjoyed...

...as we walked back up past the pub...

...and the cathedral...

...while the willdlife continued to entertain...

When we got back home, the for sale sign was up...

...and, on tidying out Pam's LPs from under her stairs, I found the copy of The Velvet Underground's debut album which inspired me to start making my own music - I passed it on to Pam a couple of years later when I bought a copy in better condition...

This is the original sleeve with the banana skin peeled away...

You don't see that very often...

I'll be keeping it now...

More clearing out in the kitchen before it all got a bit too much for me - pretty good to have lasted out for three days...

By the early evening we had another collection of stuff for the dump and the charity shop tomorrow...

Visits from chums Lesley and, later, Anna and her now fiance J - engaged on 29 February...

Anna advised that Pam's chum from Dublin, Lou, has also recently gotten engaged...

Pam would have been happy to hear that and also that Anna, whom Pam trained up, has taken over from her as Charismatic Credit Controller at Atlas Copco...

Anna advised she's in training for a charity climb of Ben Nevis in July to raise funds for MacMillan - she will be wearing a T Shirt with Pam's pic on it...

I'll post up the Just Giving link as soon as possible...

To bed early again, with another busy day lined up for tomorrow...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Revisiting St Albans...

you're right...that's a thing you should never have to do. You and Anne deserve a really good holiday in Berlin to forget all about this and have some fun and joy in your lives. xxx
