Up at six for a busy day....

Eggs for breakfast...

... post the weekly New Music Friday Music Trawl, on which I went a bit over the top on the music of George Crumb, it was out and into town, dropping Anne off at Jane's, the two of them heading for a long leisurely lunch...

Picked up the repaired hearing aid for mum from House of Hearing then headed onwards down to Leith, parking near brother in law Keith's place and walking to the Leith Dockers to have a closer reccy re stuff, hand in the poster and tickets (having paid the fee and deposit this morning)...

Parking on the street will be free...

...and we will enter here...

...but, aftre today's info, will not have to take the equipment up these steps...

...rather, we will enter the club here...

..and only these few steps will need to be climbed with heavy speakers etc...

...rather than the steps outside and all these...

Plenty of sockets, eight in all...

Brand new skylight...

The "stage"...

Looking forward to it...

A walk around the environs resulted in the purchase of a, shall we say, "quirky" CD by classical bassoonist Daniel Smith..

Then a drive to the infirmary with the hearing aid - A quick in and out, sister Sheila by mum's bed...

Mum looked not the best but better than expected after yesterday's concerned calls from the doctor and full oxygen, new anti bios and a drip to deal with fluid on the lungs...

I will return on Sunday...

A further drive to a meet up at Fountainbridge, took me down Viewforth, where, on the corner, Anne and Jane were lunching and where, Fave Niece Kitty spotted me, though I did not see her, as she returned to her flat having secured part time employment at the Fountainbridge Nandos...

Anne and Jane visited post lunch...

...while I enjoyed a coffee with Raymondo and Bernardo....

...giving Bernie a lift home...

This evening, with Anne still full from lunch, some veggie meatballs for your correspondent...

...were declared tasty by me and as having a "strange aroma" by the Exec Producer...

Just before 8, off out again and over to the Safari Lounge on London Rd for Scott Renton's latest Nitty Gritty Club - good to catch up with Scott and Jim Igoe and meeting up with Matt form Startled Bee too...

The stage was set...

Opening was v, of the band Kurz, with whom we appeared jus over 4 years ago now at the last CNG pre the lock down...

The set comprised noise guitar/FX boxes and some singing...

I deemed it interesting and original...

..although there were no tunes...

...a thing I can appreciate...

This pano shot shows packed room behind me, round the ceiling to Sylvia on stage...

It's a very small room, holding maybe 30 tops at a stretch - I will return on Thursday for my first Out of the Bedroom for a good while...

The scene was set again...

...for an entertaining set from Scott's The Heartbreak Diet...

I especially like the drumming...

...the stylophone...

...and the pedal steel...

Scott reckoned their set was too long but I thought it was fine - highlights "Revolution Blues" and "Stereo"...

A drive home, end of the night listening and to bed...

Packed day...

Highlight of the Day : Everything really, apart form mum being so ill...
