Up at 6...

Around 2.5 years of my podcasts are on this...

Standard late night/early morning,listening...

Today's podcast was given the final edit...

Too sunny outside...

Podcast uploaded...

Downstairs for some coffee...

Curtains finally open upstairs, good skies...

Back..

Front....

Good coffee - a lot of the listening today was on the old iPod Classic on shuffleplay - it contains the last 3.5 years of CD acquisitions...

Meanwhile the current phone, refilled this week, now has my chosen 25% of the collection...

...while the old iPhone has the last 50 discs acquired (later today I wiped this and added in my "100 Classical Pieces" Playlist that I'm currently making my way through...

Too sunny downstairs...

As I went to get the disc for today's proposed listen, what should I find right next to it - this is the disc I've been searching for which contains Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade" - how was I supposed to know that, with this on the spine?

And so, I ended up playing Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" from the rediscovered disc - when I get to "Scheherazade", I'll play the CD I bought recently (not yet pictured) for a quid to replace it...

Breakfast prep...

...included a visit from a Hungry Horace...

Fang is a wee beauty sometimes...

Jam and eggs for me...

Beautifully poached egg for Anne...

Then, to making scones - bigger ones this time...

Success...

...although not quite as uniform as the small ones from Monday...

Anne's picture still nears completion...

Curtains open downstairs...

...and suitably attired for a walk...

Down to South Queensferry and along to Port Edgar - which we last visited with Jorg and Manuella, just over a year ago, when they visited from Deutschland...

I like a wee close up...

Selfies...

Bridges...

..and a bird with unpictured red feet...

...unlike mine...

Jellyfish too...

I'll take a pic of anything, me...

A wee rabbit as we walked into the town...

...and enjoyed a roll each for lunch before driving home for pudding, the now cooled scones...

Some music in the afternoon, via the only speaker in the living room...

...followed by more "Berlin Station"...

There were many shouts of "we've been there"...

A discussion on Twitter re speaker positioning - I gave an opinion...

Another advised, "no one ever sets their room correctly for listening and it's pointless to suggest corrections. They'll probably tell you they mainly listen on headphones or some such nonsense"...

To which I responded with an "uh oh"...

Today's classical piece was Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition", orchestrated by Ravel and, as mentioned above, I went for the today rediscovered disc rather than the one which, on fetching to play, had led to said rediscovery...

Meaning the disc which was the hero of the hour, will remain unplayed...

Meanwhile, today's random LP was David Essex’ “All the Fun of the Fair”, which I bought 29/11/77 for 85p, £5.23 in today’s money...

This copy, however, was evidently bought by the Exec Producer in 1976, before we knew each other...

What a handsome young man he was...

This evening, inspired by a pic on Twitter from Sid Smith and lovely wife Debbie, advising it was G&T o'clock, we complied...

...while Anne prepped a fish and chip tea...

Chin and, indeed, chin...

Second helpings...

...which led to a picture of the flowers in the Dining Room...

and of your correspondent, post two large gins...

Coffee and the second scone of the day...

...and a 2 hour episode of "Vera"...

Then, finishing off the compilation of the "100 Classical Pieces" playlist - which required the purchase of a 1959 rendition by Von Karajan, with narration in German by Romy Schneider, of Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf" for a couple of quid...

Tomorrow's piece will be this recording of "Night on the Bare Mountain"...

Views this evening...

Front...

Back...

Thought it might be time for bed but it wasn't...

17 minutes later, it was...

Highlight of the Day: Out for a walk...
