Up just after six but no podcast to prepare, having done so last night- still managed to fritter away three hours before Anne got up though...

Misty...

...damp...

...and the snails were out and about...

Today should have been sister Pam's 57th birthday...

Instead, she will always be 48...

Started the day with the podcast while I uploaded it...

That and creating digital versions of three compilation from 1974 involving Roy Wood - Wizzard, ELO and The Move...

Which then led me to look for digital versions of those random LPs of the day thus far which I only have on LP....

Managed to locate all such played to date...

And so, my haul since last Sunday is set out below...

Anne eventually emerged and sausages were on the breakfast menu...

Some portraits of Anne's painting station...

The radio was enjoyed...

One guest was the playwright Sir Alan Ayckbourn - his inheritance tracks were by Schubert and Handel and accompanied by a lovely monologue re his love for classical music...

I looked up whether he'd been on Desert Island Disc and found that indeed to have been the case, way back in November 1974 - his one luxury was....a mellotron...

Top man!

The search for the elusive Rimsky Korsakov disc continued...

I looked through every single multi composer /single artist CD...

...which, while a satisfying exercise in itself, was unsuccessful....

Weird...

Today's record of the day was King Crimson's "Lizard"...

I bought it on Saturday, 16 November, 1974...

It was 2nd Hand and cost £1.10...

...which is £11.02 in today’s money...

Exactly 2,378 weeks ago today, 16,646 days ago - around 400,000 hours ago...

Ok that’ll do!

Lunch...

Followed by a "Vera" for two hours...

Then, today's classical piece was Brahms' 1st symphony...

...which accompanied what turned out to be an ill advised foray into solo scone making by your correspondent...

Somehow*, it turned out a complete and utter arse up...

...with these eventually entering the oven...

Anne's quote : “You had the cheek to get the jam out for those?”

Oh well...

I ate them...

I felt a wee bit sick...

Back to playing CDs - I seem to be able to do that ok...

Some Free Jazz on excellent headphones...

...coffee on the stove...

...and the Exec Producer once again at the helm in the kitchen, re a tasty casserole...

 All was fine...

Monochrome scenes...

An hour or so later, yumtastic...

...and a visit from Fang...

..followed by "The Mask" on the Tivo - Cameron Diaz was just 22 when it was released...

Ended the day reading in the living room with Anne while enjoying the newly cobbled together "3rd disc" of the 1st June 1974 concert by Ayers, Eno, Cale and Nico...

Lights out early...

Highlight of the Day : Well it wasn't the "scones" I baked...

*Apparently, I didn't knead the butter and flour correctly, added the milk too soon (and too much of it) - and I forgot to add the castor sugar until just before putting the two lumps of gloop into the oven.  All in all then, my "manipulation of the ingredients" left much to be desired - for example, like doing it correctly...
