Up nice and early for a Sunday morning...

A misty Sunday morning...

For posterity, I took pics of the "library" after its "sort out" on Friday...

As always, filed right to left - re how titles are printed on spines of course...

Rock & Pop reference...

...continued, then Jazz reference, followed by classical reference...

...continued...

...and again, then, artists of whatever nature, A-Z...

...followed by art books ordered by height...

...continued...

...and again.  Then, architecture and design, again, by height...

...continued and followed by philosophy etc...

...literature, history, geography (most of those are in the attic - as are all poetry) - then, food/cookery...

...continued and, finally, gardening...

Two shelves in the computer room - top is music (1/2)...

(2/2)...

...bottom is art...

OK that's enough books...

Coffee...

..and today's classical piece, Brahms' 4th...

...and to creating a new playlist re the white book at the bottom of this pic - which is a list of LPs I owned still at around 1988...

...listening to a few while I "worked"...

Eventually, breakfast...

...by which time I'd been up for nearly 5 hours...

Anne's poached egg was perfect...

The squirrel enjoyed its breakfast in an entertaining fashion...

Today's random LP was Francoise Hardy - I have so many of hers it's not surprising this is the third out of the 35 so far...

From 1981, it's not her best period...

Then, putting together another playlist of pieces by composers mentioned in my "Chronicle of Classical Music" book - from the year 1300 to around 1650 so far...

Nice...

It soundtracked a wee trip to the shops for some soup and rolls...

Which was lunch...

Then, I watched and took mental notes as Anne made some excellent scones...

...which were enjoyed...

Time for a walk - my first time out of the house on foot for two weeks!!

40 minutes to Jane & Bob's to deliver Bob's birthday card for tomorrow...

It was good to see Kitty and Rafa again - and unpictured Bob, Jane and Olly...

An hour's chat and another 40 minutes to retrace our steps...

Later an Indian takeaway was collected - Vegetable Dansak for your correspondent...

Yumtastic...

Enjoyed "The Salisbury Poisonings", first of three episodes over three nights...

Then, an article in the New York Times, led me to listen to the work of the Alban Berg Quartett - one of my fave classical acts...

They have a new 62 disc box out...

But I probably have enough to be going on with with these 19...

Some Schubert and Beethoven enjoyed with a glass of white...

All too soon it was gone midnight and time for bed after a 17 hour day...

...which are, of course, the best kind...

Highlight of the Day : Music and walking and learning and Indian food...
