Monday morning , slept in...

A dreich day outside...

Last night the death of pianist Keith Tippett was advised...

As it can be with most old rock and pop stars, his best was not really behind him (and he was only 72),. He was still very active and, indeed, actively pushing his music forward...

First play of the day then was this LP from 1977 by another sometime King Crimson collaborator, cornet player, Marc Charig...

Banana breakfast...

...and, while Anne was off out shopping, a visit from Fang...

"Who? Me?"...

Yep...

He came in the window, he left via the back door...

Bye Fang - see you next time...

Today's classical piece was the last of Brahms - his variations on a theme by Haydn...

Meanwhile, although she was out, I noted Anne's painting is progressing at pace...

A knock on the door from the postie - these arrived...

Tasty...

At lunchtime, I followed my "learning from Anne" yesterday to the T and produced these...

"Father Brown" entertained while they baked and subsequently cooled...

Success!

Could it be I am the sconemeister?

Maybe...

The afternoon's playlist was some of the as yet unplayed tracks from the CDs acquired in lockdown...

...and then the music of Mr Purcell - this is quite the box...

Scones of course...

The daily call to my mum - doing fine and just waiting now on the care package which will allow her to return home...

A tasty chicken salad based tea and then, more listening and part two of  "The Salisbury Poisonings"...

Last thing, the random LP of the day was this fine record by Michael Rother...

£7.99 says the price tag - that's over £28 in today's money - ulp!

Very good though...

I had a digital copy but it was one of those "full album" scenarios so I finally took the time tonight to split it into separate tracks...

Nice...

And then, time for bed...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Successful scone making...
