The mean reversion...

Playlist
Various - Weekly Playlist No 21
Sandra - Stay in Touch
Various - Master Cuts Funk
Haydn - String Quartets

Some judicious editing of the podcast first thing, writing of the accompanying notes then posted it up here and to Facebook...

Out to Stockbridge to Patisserie Florentin for the first time in a wee while for breakfast...

Took a look round some charity shops...

In the new British Heart Foundation shop, picked up a 3CD set of funky stuff for two quid and a book on Florence too...

In Shelter, a 4LP box of some of Haydn's best string quartets for just £3 - this purchase was inspired by looking through such boxes at the flea market in Florence a couple of weeks ago...

Back home, some LP listening took place...

All the records are mint and sound great - not as good as a CD though.  But the fact that you can't easily skip through leads you to actually listen slightly better...

In the afternoon, we finalised a trip back to Berlin in the early Autumn - we will return to "our" apartment in Prenzlauer Berg and possibly take a wee trip to Leipzig...

A downpour on our way to my mum's...

Her eyes seem to be on the mend - she has been driving short distances - without her specs...

Over to Anne's mum's for tea...

Kitty entertained...

...by appropriating the camera...

We both took close ups of the various cakes on offer...

..while Kitty took some portraits...

...and we both added some still lives...

Raindrops on the window were captured by Kitty...

...and by Olly...

...while I took the biscuit...

Kitty then reverted to picturing stuff using her phone...

...while I took this of departing for Oz on Wednesday, nephew Craig...

Due to the kids wanting to watch "Britain's (patently not) Got Talent", by the time I got round to showing Anne's mum our Italian pics on the brought along laptop, we got through a lot but ran out of time...

Home at nine.  I had been meaning (for the 2nd week) to get along to The Listening Room but missed the boat - maybe next week...

Instead, we enjoyed a quite excellent hour long spoof history of BBC2 from Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse...

Ended the day watching the results of the weekend's European elections - a quite pathetic turnout of under a third of the electorate in Scotland...

Makes you wonder...

Highlight of the Day : New Haydn LP Box...
