Very early morning listening from the mighty Grand Funk Railroad at their monstrous best...

Then, further good listening first thing with a krautrock classic, downloaded "late doors" last night...

At lunchtime back to HMV and five more "bargains" picked up - two by Iggy and the Stooges, the Thing with Neneh Cherry, Andreas Scholl and (not the choreographer) Matthew Bourne...

In the late afternoon/early evening...

...met up with the Exec Producer...

...and to Quattro Zero for nourishment a la the recent Italian trip...

...followed by a walk up Lothian Road...

...along King's Stables Road...

...past the castle...

...through the Grassmarket and up Candlemaker Row...

...past the Museum...

..and down Chamber St and over to Surgeon's Hall for a quick coffee...

...before crossing the road to the Festival Theatre...

Anne has already seen the top two of these...

Tonight we were to witness the second, and final, night of the third...

An excellent night of dance...

Here's a clip of rehearsals for one of the four pieces...

...and one of a piece they did not dance...

...and a clip of a performance of the above rehearsed piece they did do, third on the bill...

The best piece for us was the first, to the music of Philip Glass...

A short second piece was performed to a tape of Gertrude Stein reading a poem for Pablo Picasso...

The final piece was the longest and was set to four Van Morrison songs.  For me, the music let it down and led the overall piece to seem somewhat disjointed.  The dancing itself though was magnificent...

A walk back to the car, down the South Bridge...

...back past the Museum...

...and Greyfriar's Bobby..

..with his much-touched nose...

...back down Candlemaker Row...

...through the now much more drunken Grassmarket, along King's Stables Road and back down Lothian Road to the car and the drive home, where I got my first views of the newly delivered sideboard...

Upstairs and ripping and listening to the new acquisitions plus a quick glance through Facebook, first of the day under the new regime...

An excellent day...

Lights out...
