The official birthday portrait of the now 55 year old Mr CBQ at 00:01 on 4 May 2014...

Head and face were later shaved...

Up early and, for no particular reason, other than to show just how out of hand things seems to have become, these are the physical acquisitions since flying to London on 18 April - just 17 days ago...

The calendars advised it was indeed my birthday...

We are, this year, also enjoying the cats from 2008...

A coffee and to the laptop...

...after noting the early morning garden...

It's a worry when this can happen...

Fripp and Eno were given a birthday spin...

...before we headed over to Falko...

...for a tasty breakfast...

A prospective book purchase was postponed due to my having discovered I'd left my camera at our breakfast venue...

"You leave it everywhere" opined the Exec Producer...

She is not wrong...

Home and, in the afternoon, with Anne away to see Hearts thump Kilmarnock 5-0, I did nothing of any import other than receiving a quick visit from Count Brodski, watching "Marvel Agents of Shield", listening to some sounds and admiring my small collection of cards...

To my mum's around 6:30, where we were joined by sister Sheila for a celebratory Chinese takeaway...

I walked down to the purveyor of tasty delicacies and collected and brought them back...

On the way, I noted areas where an under ten and then early teenage Mr CBQ played footie with his chums...

These trees were small enough to serve as goalposts...

...and this wall was much used too...

..and this park was used until it got dark on many an evening - many years before it was invaded by the Leisure Centre and Swimming Pool...

Meanwhile, mum's fence has been rebuilt...

Post Chinese, a Sheila provided chocolate cake was also enjoyed - no candles - there would have been far too many...

Home around 9:30 and some music listened to and some time wasting surfing undertaken...

The Hearts highlights enjoyed and to bed at midnight...

Onwards and upwards...

Highlight of the day : Birthday breakfast with Annie...
