Funnily enough, another sunny morning, on what is the birthday of German chum Mr George Sunshine...

Off we went, enjoying breakfast at the same place as yesterday...

To the Piazza Pitti...

...and tickets secured for the Boboli Gradens, with a couple of museums thrown in...

Impressive courtyard...

...and impressive gardens...

...with strong tortoises holding up large statues...

We climbed the hill...

..and pushed on to the ceramics museum right at the top, again with a beautiful garden...

Mr Napoleon was looking on...

...as were several others...

Back down....

...and round to the Kaffeehaus - sadly, no coffee on offer...

Vines were on display...

..and then, we came across this great big face...

Here, the reverse...

...and, here, in context...

I do like a telegraph pole...

A new view of the cathedral...

...before we set off down the avenue of Cypresses - which we'd seen from the other end when we arrived here on Tuesday...

Modern art...

...mingled with not so modern art...

On we went...

...watched over by various people...

...and goats...

Looking back...

...the way we came...

Boo!

More goat action...

Back up the hill again on another path...

A glimpse through an almost closed door of an upcoming exhibition...

More mythology...

...before exiting the heat for the costume museum...

A display to the Italian singer Patty Pravo...

Impressive interiors...

...and a lovely display of photos in a nicely air conditioned room...

Downstairs...

...to the foyer...

...and outside again into the courtyard we'd entered several hours ago...

But the visit wasn't over yet...

To the other side of the palace for more looking at impressive stuff...

...including sleeping, possibly dead, babies...

...and gold plates...

...and intricate miniaturism...

Good nose...

Theres's that Jesus again - he's everywhere...

With the visit finally over, we acquired provisions from a slightly more upmarket provider of provisions and headed home for lunch...

Outside, the Crispy look a like entertained...

..but was reticent about being pictured...

Listening inspired by reading...

I'd read in our guide book about a flea market at a new area for us, so we walked over the river to find it...

...via Piazza Santa Croce...

...which contained yet another impressive church...

Another alternative view of the cathedral...

We reached our (ok, my) goal, Piazza de' Ciompi...

...and, after a quick look around, enjoyed some refreshment...

..and pictured the action taking place...

A couple of CDs were partaken of, before we started the walk back to home...

...via churches...

...busy streets...

...and synagogues...

...accompanied by the moon...

Our alternative route home drew us inevitably towards the cathedral...

..and then through Piazza Della Signoria...

..which had been cordoned off for the arrival of some police escorted dignitaries...

...in black cars...

...who turned out to be ordinary humans just like the rest of us...

Home for a rest...

...and I located some of the tracks from the new CDs - as they, are alternative versions of them, were already on the iPod....

Our ground floor position necessitated bars on the windows...

..through which though, we spotted our wee friend...

..and went out to see him...

Out for dinner, past the gates of the gardens which had so entertained us earlier today...

Another pizza for the big man - the Exec Producer opting for very tasty pasta...

...before a constitutional via Piazza San Spirito...

...which, almost inevitably, involved a statutory intake of lovely ice cream...

...before we returned home to hit the sack...

...with legs very much aching...

Another good day...

Tomorrow we return to Bologna...

Highlight of the Day : Boboli Gardens and a laid back district...
