Started the day with a walk down the road to the bus with young Bianca from next door...
Part of our conversation was regarding her upcoming holidays – either a quiet time in a villa in Tenerife with her boyfriend, or a girls’ long weekend at the end of the season in Ibiza...
This latter led to a discussion of “banging trance” and “pure Ibiza”, Bianca opining that my suggestions of Ferry Corsten (my favourite) and DJ Tiesto were of the former variety, while the music on offer in Ibiza was likely to be of the latter...
So anyway, there I was in Fopp a couple of hours later and what should I see on the shelves - following having found a copy of Lou Reed’s live rendition of his classic “Berlin” for three squid - but two discs by the aforementioned Tiesto, also priced at three sea creatures each...
Up-ge-snapped...
Returned our Dar Williams tickets for the gig on 2 December last year which was cancelled due to the snow – just and no more as after today they would have refused apparently...
A sunny day uptown...
...the stands are going up for the tattoo...
..and Primark is coming along nicely...
On the way back to Crispycat Towers, the sun was still shining...

Back home, Meg the Black Cat had indicated I ought to finally get rid of my worn out slippers...
Let's just say she gave me a “sign”...
A parcel from e-bay re a CD ordered last thing a couple of nights ago – in honour of Anne and Lynn’s soon come trip to Kefalonia – music from the novel “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” which is set on that very island...
With TV off and windows and doors open re the (at last) summer heat, we enjoyed this disc along with a couple of glasses of vino and some tasty pasta...
Then, one of the Tiesto discs – probably not really the correct environment to be honest but some of it was ok...
Caught a bit of “Springwatch” – the presenting style is very much of the mid-sixties Blue Peter variety for some reason, which makes the programme feel like it’s aimed at children...
Some nice photography though featuring kingfishers, beavers, owls and various other cute wee beasties...
Best line? "I was trying to get a beaver up the passage"...
Then, highlight of the night, “The Shadow Line” – getting more complicated by the week – and it reminded me that my 2DVD set of “Edge of Darkness”, ordered this time last week and, supposedly, despatched, is yet to arrive...
A Tivo’d Corrie for Anne as I retired to rip and listen to the rest of today’s acquisitions and do some sorting out of the two and a half thousand albums on the hard drive...
Highlight of the Day : The Shadow Line – actually, no, it was in fact Annie’s tasty pasta – creamy tomatos and chorizo, mmm, mmm...

I was exercising poetic license...
It should also be pointed out that I first read your blog in the morning at work, where anything with just a hint of "anarchy", let's say viewing photos on a website, is simply not allowed, and this feature is disabled. So the mention of a grumpy man on a bus conjures up all sorts of images; drunks, tramps etc (wasn't that a Cher song...?). Imagine my surprise...
And even more of a surprise when it turns out your suede slippers are exactly like mine (except mine are brown, yes, brown!).
Still awaiting the William Fitzsimmons CD from the States but hopefully it will arrive in the next few days.
Funny finding a doppelganger up the back of the bus eh?
My slippers are in the bin and I've taken to wearing sandals around the house!
I'm still waiting for my "Edge of Darkness" DVD set - which I'll probably never watch...
