Can you feel the force, unfortunately yes I can...

Playlist
Galleon – In the Wake of the Moon
Jakszyk Fripp & Collins – A Scarcity of Miracles
Cloudland Blue Quartet – Acoustic Live Set

Up at 4:45 due to vibrations from the building site generator...

Texted my contact at Cala Homes and drove round to see the nightwatchman...

No comeback from the former but the latter agreed to turn it off – although we both knew it was going back on at 7:30...

Back home and some work done...

At 7:30 the site started work again...

To the store for croissants...

Brought my "record of songs played live since 2003" up to date, post last month’s sortie and had the idea of forming a set list of the the two most played songs from each of the CBQ albums...

Just as I was starting to sing it through, Annie left to go to a garden show with sister-in-law Jane...

The singing was going better than expected, so I decided to record it – live, one mic, one take...

Added some reverb in post production and was finished just as the girls returned for coffee...

Two new acquisitions also arrived, the latest King Crimson related recording and, new to me, Swedish prog outfit, Galleon...

Tasty stuff...

Uploaded this afternoon’s performance to the Cloud and then posted it here...

Considering music is what I’m supposed to do, I saw no reason not to...

Of course, being one take, there are a couple of wee errors in there but not to worry – it’s tantamount to a live gig scenario...

“Dr Who” was good but, once again, I felt there was a lot of padding – set up nicely for the second half of the series later in the year though...

Tasty mince and tatties from the Exec Producer for tea, then I did more “stuff” while she watched and got depressed by “Casualty”...

In a bid to cheer ourselves up (the generator had been going all day and continued all night too) we watched a DVD of “Life is Beautiful” – of course we didn't realise it has rather a sad ending – so that didn’t quite work as expected...

The generator vibrations are weird – there are pockets in the house, for example a small area right in the middle of the back room, where you’d think it was switched off...

There are other areas where you can’t not hear or, worse, feel it...

These include the stairs, the area by the back bedroom window and, very annoyingly, the exact spot where my pillow is...

So, held off going to bed as long as poss re the noise, eventually hitting the sack around 1:40 am after listening again to Galleon, JF&C and CBQ into the early hours...

Highlight of the Day : The two hours or so when the godamn generator wasn’t rumbling away...
