A chocolate croissant each for breakfast...

Not feeling too great today re the arm pains...

Watched most of last night’s broadcast of David Gilmour at the Royal Albert Hall which included David Bowie singing Pink Floyd’s first single, “Arnold Layne”...

Around one, we departed for the bus stop to head down Leith way for Anne’s mum’s birthday (75 tomorrow) lunch...

The Compass Bar and Grill is not far from brother in law Keith’s flat so we were there for a meal (Me, Anne, Anne’s Mum, Keith, Maureen, Jane, Bobby, Oliver & Kitty)...

The food was excellent – Keith, Ollie and I all opted for the beer battered haddock and chips while Anne and her mum both went for the Seabass fillet, Jane fishcakes, Bobby Mussels, Maureen Duck and Kitty had a small plate of chips, most of which she didn’t eat – but that’s kids in restaurants for you...

I also reacquainted myself with the Fruli Strawberry Beer I’d had last time Anne and I popped in here for a drink...

The cheesecake was quite probably the best I’ve ever tasted – it was almost like pure mascarponi on a thin biscuit base with whole blueberries and raspberries laced through the ceamy topping...

Mmm, mmm....

After the meal we made our way back to Keith and Maureen’s for the present presentation – we gave Anne’s mum a Digital Radio to replace the ancient ghetto blaster she uses at present....

More wine and port were consumed before Jane, Bobby, Ollie, Kitty and Anne’s mum headed home and Anne and I made our way to the bus stop..

Back home I felt very tired indeed and, as Anne stayed up to watch “Bend it Like Beckham”, I retired at 9pm – possibly an early to bed record for me...

Highlight of the Day : Mmmm, cheesecake...
