To HMV’s sale today, strangely determined to part with cash for something or other –and so I left with a 6CD set of Baroque music for £10…

A call mid afternoon from James Jamieson…

On a Thursday that can mean only one thing – he’s inviting me along to Out of the Bedroom…

With my own playing days now over until next year due to the shoulder problems (despite my new album’s imminent release) I agree to go along as our old chum Scott Renton is the headliner…

I watch an entertaining episode of “Holby” before leaving and arrive just as Scott’s band take to the stage…

A good entertaining and varied set from him with additional back up comprising harmonies, bass and djembe – great stuff…

Jamie and I decide to leave immediately after his set and, outside on the pavement, he advises he has Konrad Studios up and running again and intends to record his new album in October…

He’s also looking at putting together a new trio with two other guys he has lined up on bass and percussion – with a possible place for me on keyboards, which would be nice for a change…

We chat briefly to a young American couple who sang one superb song tonight and who’ve just moved here from the US – hope to see and hear more of them in times to come…

Home to watch Question Time and then Mock the Week, Saxondale and That Mitchell & Web Look…

Highlight of the Day : Seeing James Jamieson again
