Boom boom, bang bang...

Playlist
Sarah McLachlan – Surfacing
Alex Tuomarila Quartet – O2
David Reilly – Tracks for Anthology 1977-2007

Up at five today to work on the anthology project – Meg the Black Cat helped me...

Spent much of the day editing many of the longer tracks...

Drove to Patisserie Florentin to bring back raisin croissants for breakfast...

Anne continued with the kitchen renovation project – earlier this week she did some sterling work on the garden...

In the evening, we had an invite to watch the end of Festival Fireworks show from the terrace of a building overlooking the castle....

I got “dressed up”...

It was sunny when we left the house...

A free bar and barbecue were also on hand to make the evening go with a bang...

On our way we bumped into Anne’s cousin Alison Green as she made her way to Princes St Gardens to play bassoon with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra to accompany the fireworks...

I didn’t particularly enjoy the music this year, with the exception of Barber’s “Adagio for Strings”...

Alison's husband plays clarinet in the Scottish Opera Orchestra but tonight was on kid-looking-after duty...

After the show, we walked half way home before finally succumbing and getting a taxi...

Caught the end of “Match of the Day 2”...
And so I reach the end of 38 days of festivalling...

Highlight of the Day : Fireworks
