A good uplifting, life affirming day today...
Started with some sublime Haydn..
After yesterday's minimal intake, it was off to the gym first thing, for the first time since prior to my final, debilitating participation in football...
The day did not start as it eventually turned out to be...
As I pulled up to park, enjoying a Bartok string quartet, I noted No Waiting cones at the side of the road...
So I pulled in to read the signs...
Having confirmed parking was allowed, I moved forward into a space...
...and promptly drove over a cone...
On exiting the car, I noted a goodly amount of yellow paint now attached the side of the Cloudland Blue Mobile...
I cursed my decision to return to the gym...
Back home, tired and sweaty, I explained to the Exec Producer that I had two stories about the car - the first was good - I had rearranged the steering wheel so that we can now actually see the dashboard...
The second was the less good tail of paint on the side of the car...
However, the Exec Producer, being the Exec Producer, after declaring me a goat or some such, executively produced the offending paint away...
Top lady...
So, off out for breakfast and we parked at Roseburn and walked from there for 45 minutes to Stockbridge...
...noting a heron...
...and an excitable spaniel puppy called Bramble...
Our route was subject to a slight detour due to a landslide...
...but we were soon back on track...
...under the Dean Bridge...
...past St Bernard's Well, with a strategically-placed-by-a-ne'er-do-well Diet Coke can...
...and out into Stockbridge...
...to our breakfast venue of choice...
...where we had a window seat...
Down to the main street and Anne purchased Sea Bass for tonight, while I got something I liked...
On the walk back, we saw Gormley's man had fallen face first into the water...
...and another heron...
...and here came Bramble the dog again...
What a friendly wee beastie...
The other heron was still in its spot as we passed back...
And home, for some much needed tidying and placing of stuff in the attic...
All guitars and mics and mic stands and music stands too - given the new album is finished and out there and I have turned down the chance to play on the Ross Bandstand in Princes Street this year...
Mid afternoon, out for some shirt and sock buying then home to find Queen of the South are top of the league after beating Forfar Athletic 2-0 on the opening day...
Meanwhile, The Rangers FC (aka Sevco) were lucky to achieve a draw away at Peterhead, equalising to 2-2 in the last minute - oh dear...
Some groovy jazz was enjoyed...
...and tidiness ensued...
Many CDs had partially soundtracked yesterday and today...
The bed settee was move and Meg declared it to be good...
A tidy room is a happy room...
Mr Handel preceded some excellent Sea Bass...
...which was followed by a little Olympics and the splendidly funny and heart warming cartoon, "Despicable Me"...
Last thing, Meg was still enjoying the new set up...
A good day...
