Out with the kids...

Playlist

You know the drill...

Including...

...and...

Then, two hours spent choosing pics from 2005-2015 (when I started making family calendars) of Anne's mum, Mary, to add to the family WhatsApp group this morning, on the advent of her 94th birthday...

This was my favourite...

...and this was one I enjoyed making at the time...

In 24 days' time Mary will have outlived my mum, in relative terms...

Then, breakfast - actually cooked on the cooker...

Another wee trip outside, too, for Luna...

At 10, over to Mary's care home where cards and presents were given...

...before we headed to the cafe for coffee and Victoria Sponge...

Anne's Uncle Bob also arrived to wish Mary the best...

Then, outside for "joyriding"...

A very nice lady was taking two residents at a time for a run around the surrounding area...

Around 15 minutes later they were back...

And, then, back to her room, where Bob stayed on for some birthday chat - Brother in Law Keith would visit this afternoon...

Back home, I found, by chance, the diary entry of the discovery of this stone on Warkworth beach, which sits right in front of me to this day...

I also slightly rearranged the speakers yet again...

...and we watched the second 3 of the 6 episodes of Season 2 of "Ludwig" - another cliffhanger set up Season 3...

This evening, into town...

...to Shandwick Place before walking up towards Tollcross, stopping off at the Caley Picture House for a drink, as we were a little early...

Tried to arrange a meet up with "the lads" here tomorrow afternoon but everyone is either away or ill...

Not to worry...

Then to l'Artigiano to meet up with fave niece, Kitty and her partner Ewen, for succulent pizzas with bottles of both white and red wine...

Our treat...

For future reference, mine was a L'inferno (same as my first visit here), but with onions replacing the devil's own black olives...

Ewen went for the Inferno too, again with no olives but foregoing the onion based replacement...

A vegetarian for Anne...

...while Kitty's Burrata completed the order...

Excellent chat with the two youngsters, including the difficulties for Kitty of post graduation job hunting; and of leftover chicken and cheesecake from her job at Nando's, was followed by a walk along to our departure point at the top of Grove St...

On our way past Haymarket station for the bus, a large nail went through the sole of my shoe and I was convinced it must have entered my foot...

On arrival home, I checked...

...and was relieved to find zero damage other than a small hole in my shoe...

Luna was glad to see us back...

...and a "Taskmaster" and a "Scandal" weere watched before bedtime...
