Uneven not asymmetric...

Playlist
ProjeKct One - Jazz Cafe, London 1-4 December 1997
King Crimson - Discipline
Discipline - Moles Club, Bath 30 April 1981

This morning I paid the very reasonable price of twenty nine of your American Dollars to download eight CDs worth of improvised King Crimson type music from four two set gigs by the quartet of Bill Bruford, Trey Gunn, Tony Levin and Robert Fripp from the DGM website...

I spent much of the rest of the day listening to it and being greatly entertained...

Despite the all round tunelessness of it all...

Superb...

Their only rehearsal prior to stepping out into the improvisational abyss was to ensure all their equipment was working...

In the afternoon, once Anne had watched Hearts draw 1-1 away at Hibs round at Jane and Bobby's, it was out to sister Sheila's in Penicuik for some Sunday early dinner and some entertaining chat from mum, Sheila, husband Andrew and their two boys Andy and Ali and some antics from their dogs, Spaniel Ben and Labsetter Cassie...

Back home and far too much of the evening was spent watching the three hour plus closing ceremony of the London Olympics...

Highlight was David Bowie's "Fashion", featuring the guitar of Robert Fripp...

Mr Bowie did not appear - now that would have been a coup...

I've noted, from dipping in and out of the games coverage, that what I used to know as the Butterfly Stroke in swimming, is now "The Fly" and that it seems "asymetric" is too difficult a word for people to comprehend...

Hence we have the "Uneven Bars"...

Meanwhile a new robot has landed on Mars in amongst all the sport - but virtually zero coverage of that event - which cost considerably less than the Olympics and the effects of which will no doubt have a long lasting effect on the future of the human race - whereas the Olympics?

Well, the BBC has gone a bit mental on them (and that's putting it mildly)...

Not to worry...

Highlight of the Day : 400 minutes of top notch music...
