Up at 5:30 and to the back room with Meg the Black Cat...

Having retired last night with jazz in the cans, I had awoken with the almightly racket of Coltrane's "Ascension" in my ears...

Listened to the whole thing for 40 minutes...

...then, moved on to Ornette Coleman's "Free Jazz"...

Coffee...

...and porridge...

Frank Zappa soundtracked both my trip into town and lunch, which was spent walking to the post office to send off yesterday's orders, followed by a wee browse in HMV...

Once again, nothing enticed...

It's the seventeenth of August and I've only bought two CDs this month, one of which was a Bryan Adams anthology...

What's happening?

Wait, no, there was the $29 download of the King Crimson 8CD set...

OK three CDs...

What's happening?

Home tonight and no tasty Indian as it's a "fast" day - so 500 calories at breakfast and nothing for the rest of the day...

Over the course of a week, two such days reduced my clorific intake by around 22.5%...

While Anne toiled at Zumba, I listened to some selections from the jazz collection before her return, at which point a "Montalbano" was enjoyed...

To bed...

Highlight of the Day : Jazz...
