Up super early, as there was much to be done...
..including adding some treated piano and short wave radio to the Bartok thing...
...before heading out around 8:15...
...to the place I go to lose but, today, stayed the same...
...which, considering yesterday, was pretty good...
Back home, noting the progress made by Anne yesterday while I was gallivanting...
Breakfast...
...and, leaving the iTunes searching for missing files...
...off back to Currys to try and sort the Windows conundrum...
...which, it appeared, we did - with the nice young man actually learning something due having to do what I requested he do...
On our return, I was buoyed by iTunes still searching...
...until I found it had merely frozen...
Jeez oh...
Dismay...
Then, I added my second Windows account to the old laptop and went into Windows to register both machines under this, second, correct account...
Only to find I couldn't...
Despair...
Continued the work though, transferring the final items from the old C drive to the new external drive...
I was able to ignore all this...
...but, under me, there was a lot to move...
...not all of this but a lot - and, of course, this will mean thousands more tracks for which iTunes will be pointing the wrong way...
Meanwhile my erstwhile colleagues seemed to be taking a tanking in a five a sides tournament, L-R Matt, Josh, James, Alex, Jack, Andy, Derek, Spike...
Back here, as the machines whirred and transferred, Anne made some excellent meatball linguini...
...and we watched England be completely outplayed by a sadly unable to score but did hit the bar, USA...
As ever, England will get through to the last 16 despite that recurring situation when you think you're really good, then, it turns out, when tested again, you aren't actually that great, it was just that your initial opponents were utter rubbish...
At half time, I made the decision to keep the second Windows account and to pay for, what is, to be frank, a completely unnecessary e-mail address to have it under, so that the new laptop can continue to receive updates...
Both machines are registered under the "wrong" account but there seems there's nothing I can do about it and this was the simplest solution...
So, that's done and I move on...
England failing to beat the USA seemed to be the start of a slight upturn in my fortunes over the last couple of weeks...
I tested the internet speed of the old laptop...
...and the new one, which is around 4 times faster...
The rest of the evening from 9, was spent recording the links for this week's podcast and then putting together the first half, leaving the second for tomorrow morning...
Lights out at midnight...
Highlight of the Day : Sorting things although much remains in ruins...
