Up early and it seems, as the days go on, the system might just be getting slightly better...

I downloaded iTunes today and set it up....

This, however, wasn't so good...

Oh well...

An inordinate amount of time spent mucking about before Anne arose...

The view from the office this morning...

Just before breakfast, Fang arrived...

...and settled down...

This from iTunes was slightly better...

...but, at present, 17,318 albums are missing out of 19,441 (260,159 tracks out of 288,463)...

So, that's 90% of my collection currently unplayable in iTunes...

Another call this morning from my mum - her third early morning nosebleed in three days...

With Anne away shopping with her mum, there was nothing I could do...

Mum's GP was also shut all day today - apparently because they were open on the day of the Queen's funeral...

Now, instead of having an arbitrary one-day closure today, why didn't they just add a day to everyone's annual leave, so that the consequences could have been staggered to allow them to remain open?

Idiots!

And so, to recording this year's "Disquietmusik" session, the sixth release since 2017...

The set up...

Seven pieces recorded in, respectively, E, A, B, C, D, F and G...

The end of the session...

Then, to choosing titles...

As with all previous editions, this was done via a random number generator being applied to an art book...

Ten picks which were suggested by chance were rejected, either (a) as I disliked them or (b) because they were deemed already too well known...

But, eventually I had a satisfactory seven...

Then, to the treatment of the tracks, which involves four copies of the WAV recorded being placed slightly out of synch to create the tracks for the LP...

Then, the bonus tracks - three alternative versions (which I usually find to be even better than the original LP), reversed, 16 RPM and 16 RPM Reversed...

And, Bob's your uncle, here is the finished article...

...which will be out on Friday...

Work too on Bartok, creating two new clean mixes without the filed recordings and shortwave radio - taking it back to the "it's not music" (c) The Executive Producer statement of last week - but now with both string quartet and piano elements, rather than just the former...

And, for the record, here are the seven chosen artworks which are used as titled for the new Disquiet tracks...

While listening back, I tidied my wardrobe...

I am nothing if not almost entirely monochromatic...

With Anne out at Pilates, more listening back and familiarising myself with what I'd done - the guitarscapes of Disquietmusik are, of course, entirely improvised...

I was also on Baked Potato duty...

Those followed Anne's return, as did "University Challenge", on which we managed our best score of the series, hitting 170...

Further downstairs listening back on the phones, this time to a proposed collaboration with Edward Spark for 2023, accompanied "Coronation St"...

Eventually, of course, I fell asleep...

Oh well...

Lights out...
