Blue Sun Chasing & Edward Spark - A Hymn For The Theatre Rejects
The view from the office this morning, or, rather, from where I stand in it...
Windows needed to be updated...
The arty books on the shelf are good...
Today's cat calendar entry...
...and, just for good measure, a couple of monochrome shots of the room...
Refined the headphones once again, realising I can hang up all the chords too...
Out pre breakfast and pre Anne arising...
...to the place I go to try and lose...
Today, I won by losing...
A man on a roof on the way home...
My winnings...
Banana on toast for breakfast...
A very frustrating morning spent ripping yesterday's CDs amongst various software glitches and setbacks...
Edward Spark sent me a massive folder of very large WAV files re his new LP with Blue Sun Chasing which is out next Friday and includes no less than five CBQ remixes...
As it took an age to download, I looked at my headphone wall...
I had brought down a piece of MDF from the attic the other day with a view to having it as the wall...
With that plan superseded, it now serves nicely as a "working on stuff" table in the back room...
A visit for coffee/tea and chat from young chum Jack this afternoon, here to borrow two guitars for a post wedding get together on Sunday...
Hopefully, letting him take away my guitars won't be something I come to regret!
The other night, the bulb in the oven blew up...
Today, the requisite pliers to remove the remains arrived and the Exec Producer executively produced the remains out...
A tasty tea of hot chicken, healthy chips and much veg sustained, before we set off out to witness some excellent dancing...
Parked at the University...
...and took a short walk to the venue...
...which I last visited in the summer of 2015, - the diary entries around that day show that I was in a particularly productive period...
Anyway, tonight's thing, was this...
Pre performance drinks...
...and then, in, second front row...
Two hours of top contemporary dance from three companies (two duos and a trio) - all of which featured amazing movement and excellent soundscapes/soundtracks...
The performances were followed by a Q&A with the seven dancers...
My question was, "given the lack of beats in the soundtracks which accompanied the performances, was there a lot of counting going on?"
Overall, the answer seemed to be "no" but the synchronisation of the dancers in each piece is down to certain cues in the sound which may not always be noticeable to the audience and to the dancers "knowing" where their fellow dancers are and what they are doing...
A superb night...
Out and back to the car...
..and home to record the links for the weekend's podcast but with no chance before bedtime to make a start on the thing itself - which means up tomorrow at six to get it out pre 9...
Also started juicing up Anne's old phone with a view to it becoming a new MP3 player...
We'll see..
Another good Friday...
Highlight of the Day : The dancing...
