The first entry I've written up "the day after" for over nine weeks...

The views this morning...

...including the view ruining superfast broadband cable installed to our neighbour's house yesterday...

The view from the front remains good...

"What time was it Dave? You always tell us the time"

Well, it was around 6:25 am when I got up...

I set about uploading more entries from the last nine weeks (pictures wise) - which took an age, as each picture has to be individually re-sized...

I was accompanied by good LPs from Nova Twins (pop) and Marty Holoubek (jazz)...

At 8:30, Fang popped by and accompanied our breakfast...

...along with the latest Blue Note compilation into the collection...

For most of the rest of the day, the entire collection was on shuffleplay - hence the rather large playlist above...

More diary entry uploading post breakfast then, around 10, out to the dump with the dismantled big shoe rack thing from the porch which we replaced last week with a snazzy shelving unit...

We left Fang sleeping...

Post dump, we drove along to the Cat Protection shop and Anne donated two large bags of her no longer required shoes and clothes...

Back home to more uploading, while Anne popped to the shops...

A welcome chance meeting with old chum, artist, bassist and librarian, George Coleman...

As ever, when old chums are met, there is talk of getting together for drinks etc - now we are retired, maybe this will come to pass?

I finished the final post just before leaving for Tynecastle - actually not Tynecastle, as we'd been moved indoors at World of Football, due to the weather forecast - for today's session of walking football...

I have come to the conclusion that it's actually just ordinary football limited to three touches but, during which, a few of the players tend to walk rather than run, due to their age or injuries...

The rest? They run around as usual...

I have become one of the rest...

An enjoyable hour...

We won our first two games but, surprisingly were comprehensively beaten in our final game...

Their goalie was virtually unbeatable...

A good time...

Home for a shower, lunch and, in the company of Fang, some "Elementary" - commencing season two of this new favourite...

Finally, the rains did indeed come and, boy, did they come...

A massive thunder and lightning storm ensued...

I, of course, recorded it for future use...

Fang remained in situ (he eventually exited, almost 12 hours after coming in)...

Around 5, some music listening, followed by, as Anne painted, episode 2 of "The Man Who Fell to Earth" sequel....

Superb linguini and meatballs for tea...

...accompanied by more "Elementary"...

News from the Capital Models camp re Saturday's gig.  Our rehearsal last night was postponed to Thursday due to keyboardist Paul succumbing to Covid and bassist Keith also being under the weather...

Perhaps we'll have to play as a trio!

A break for more music listening and whittling my 100 LPs of 2010 down to 75...

Then, some 1976 Alice Cooper in the cans downstairs - I'd forgotten how good "Alice Cooper Goes to Hell" is...

Ended the day with one last episode of "Elementary" and Brandt Brauer Frick in the nutphones (followed by the final DAF LP)...

Good to be back writing...

Highlight of the Day : Still playing football at age 63...
