I gave up the chance to view a concert by Ocean Colour Scene tonight from the VIP area at the Hard Rock Café, preferring to have a night in with Anne...

I must confess to knowing none of OCS' music whatsoever...

We watched a couple of the many taped episodes of “Law & Order” and “CSI”, which are metaphorically piling up...

Then “My Name is Earl” – after which, a not well Exec Producer retired for the night, leaving me to write this...

An order for a CD, which arrived in the inbox the other night, turned out to be from an old school friend whom I’ve not seen for possibly 30 years or maybe only 10 if he was at the class reunion we had back in 1999...

Count Brodski and I were going to hire sports cars and escort girls for the evening to create an impression - but didn’t – we just got drunk and ended up hosting a party back at my (holidaying) mum and dad’s empty house like a couple of teenagers...

Also in the inbox, a mail from childhood-chum-now-residing-in-France, Lindsay, who is a devotee of the dreaded “Facebook” and advises this is all the rage apparently...

She reckons if I post these instructions up, everyone who reads this will try it...

1 - click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random article is the name of your band.

2 - click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last 4 or 5 words of the last quote on the page is the title of your album.

3 - click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
The third picture, no matter what it is, is your album cover.

4 - Put it all together

So here’s mine...

Designed by Lindsay!

I must say Lins, it almost looks real...

So I was headed for a spectacular three posts written and up in 30 minutes but problems with the PC has expanded that to a very frustrating 90 minutes, most of which was spent cursing as quietly as possible with Anne trying to sleep in the next room...

Oh, and here’s today’s pic- a shelf in the music room full of books, many of which I’ve not even opened, never mind read...

As I get older I find it harder to commit large amounts of time to anything...

Highlight of the Day : Busy doing nothing...

Mr Roboto - Styxx, what do you think?

Cloudland Blue Quartet said...

Listening to it as I type - famous of course for its inclusion in The Simpsons..

Bombastic Pomp Rock crossed with electro ina Sub-Queen stylee - dripping with cheese and dreadful cod-sci fi lyrics...

Its so bad it's good - but like most "so bad it's good" things, it's fundamentally "bad"...

The singer may come from Bonnyrigg re his pronunciation of "modern" as "modren"...
