Up at 6 and transferred some more music to the PC for eventual upload to the Jukebox...

Whilst doing this I did some all too late research on being a wedding photographer...

...and started to get worried...

Anne put my mind at ease by saying “if they wanted normal wedding pics they wouldn’t have asked you...”

Which was good, in a strange kind of way...

Lovely, sunny morning preceded a gloriously sunny day...

Started getting ready just before 8 while Meg the Black cat gambolled in the front garden...

At 10 we were off and down to the florist’s to pick up Anne’s mum’s flower – mine was homemade – Anne took a course in flower-arranging etc a few years ago – you may recall she created a bouquet for Penny last week re her birthday..

Then to Anne’s mum’s, picked her up and off round to Jane and Bobby’s for some pre-wedding champagne and canapés...

Neice Kitty helped her mum get ready...

An eight seater taxi took us the Royal Mile and I was now “on duty”...

The guests, best man, groom and bridal party all duly arrived and the ceremony went off without a hitch – although it seemed like every one in the company was on hand to take pictures, so it was hard at first to get the ones I thought I needed to have...

Here’s one of the “special" moments...

After the ceremony itself, I managed to take control of matters and got all the group shots ticked off without too much bother, plus a couple of the entire assembly, myself included, due to a kind, uninvited guest...

Your correspondent looks rather self conscious due to worrying that others might be wondering why the photographer should be included in the picture – this was before I’d had a chance to get to know many of the assembled throng...

From the registry office, we were taken down to the Shore Bar for a superb, long and leisurely meal, at which the wine was fairly flowing...

I documented the afternoon well (having seen the results) and the groom and best man (Keith’s son, Craig) both gave excellent speeches, Craig’s moving a few of the guests to tears in fact (after having had them roaring with laughter)...

We walked from the shore through Leith Links and the Leith festival to Keith & Maureen’s neighbour’s house where the evening reception was to be held...

It was a masterfully organised event, several of Maureen’s best friends having worked on the logistics for months...

A great night was had by all and your correspondent continued to document proceedings for the archive, including another large group shot at the cutting of the cake...

This is an “out-take”...

The weather could not have been better wedding-wise – hardly a cloud in the sky from the time we’d gathered at The Royal Mile at 11:30 am till the sun went down...

We finally left around midnight, catching a cab with Anne’s mum and one of Keith’s best friends and his wife, as they live close to Crispycat Towers...

Back home I uploaded the pics to the hard-drive and the first quick look through pointed to a successful day’s work, having experienced one of the best weddings I’ve ever attended...

An excellent day...

Here a hundred of the 433 pictures taken...

Highlight of the Day : Being “The Photographer”...
