Up at 8:30 and sorting out the photos – we have a week to choose the “official” set which will be touched up for red-eye etc and we’ll also provide discs with every picture included so they can pic and chose their own...

Anne was up around 10 and at 10:50 we set out to walk over Corstorphine Hill to Jane and Bobby’s to pick up the Cloudland Blue Mobile...

It took around 45 minutes to get their (4 mins by car) but the walk was a delight and the birdsong soundtrack excellent...

Chatted with Jane and Bobby and Bobby’s mum for while – Niece Kitty was fascinated by all the photos on my camera (as I hadn’t yet deleted them from the memory card)...

Then (on the recommendation of The Edinburgh Blog) we drove over to The Orchard at Cannonmills for lunch, having foregone breakfast...

Lovely mushroom “burgers” with fries and salad hit the spot for both of us...

Home to the garden and Meg the Black Cat...

Then to watch last night’s “Dr Who”, the second of a two parter and, quite frankly, the best episodes of “Dr Who” I’ve seen – the storyline and writing went beyond anything before under the franchise...

Then last night’s “Law & Order”, during which Anne fell asleep...

To the music room, which now contains just my acoustic guitar, and I put together a new chord sequence. So, as of today, two new songs are officially “underway” – new album likely in 2009...

I have placed a spreadbet on the Euro 2008 Championships - £2 per goalless half (last of the big spenders)...

If there turn out to be more than 20 halves with no goals, I receive £2 for each beyond the magic 20 number. Any fewer than 20 and I have to pay £2 per unrealised half...

Yesterday saw the first two goalless halves and, today, Croatia v Austria produced a third – just another 18 to go till I win £2...

A stupid bet which encourages me to hope for a lack of goals...

Croatia v Austria and, later, Germany v Poland were two entertaining games, followed by tonight’s “Coronation St” on tape then, wasted my time away before bed with “The Sunday Night Project” and “The Graham Norton Show”...

Earlier in the day, I discovered a link on an excellent site dedicated to the work of Fripp & Eno to the entry in Robert Fripp’s diary which mentions this blog re my faux-pas a few weeks back of posting a pic of a fraudulent “signed” cover by my heroes...

Some correspondence with the curator followed...

If you have even the slightest interest in F&E or are curious about them, I urge you to visit this fascinating site – as a taster, here’s a scan of an original poster for one of the very few live outings by the legendary duo, all of which took place in 1975...

Coincidentally, this particular gig, from which many audience members walked out, having come along from near and far expecting a rock show, took place this very weekend 33 years ago...

Highlight of the Day : A walk over the hill...
