Up early as (almost) ever and decided to change the track list for the demo that’s been requested...

At 9:30 we headed again to Ikea and had breakfast there before buying shelves and more storage than you could shake a stick at..

Back home, I spent some considerable time putting the shelving unit together and making up the flat packed storage boxes...

Sister Sheila & her husband, Andrew, popped round for a nice cup of tea – we were able to use the lovely new Ikea mugs...

Watched the first half of England v Ecuador – they just do not look very good but haven’t played against any really challenging teams so far. In the end they won 1-0 from a Beckham free kick, though Ecuador did hit the bar in the first half - had that gone in...

But it didn't, so next the Kings of Jam will play either Holland or Portugal – which should test them at last. England certainly have the players but somehow, their performances thus far have been decidedly dodgy and they have certainly ridden their luck (and their seeding) to get this far...

Finally finished sorting out the room around 7:30 and we went out for a meal to celebrate – Howie’s in Victoria Street. Excellent food, the highlight for me being the very tasty banoffie pie for pudding...

Back home – I still didn’t know the result of Holland v Portugal so I packaged up the demo to send off tomorrow and settled down to watch the highlights...

Portugal, 1-0 but they had two players sent off (as did Holland) and another with a serious injury so it seems England’s luck knows no bounds...

Highlight of the Day : Finishing the room at last
