Emerson Lake & Palmer - Brain Salad Surgery
Today I went on an adventure with some friends. Following a buffet lunch at The Retreat out near Cockpen, where Anne goes to help the cats, we were bussed to Melville Castle...

...for an afternoon of activities including...

Hovercraft...

Quadbikes...
...and some Highland Games and “It’s A Knockout” style jousting
Then we were taken over to Ratho and on to a barge for a trip up the Union Canal during which we enjoyed an evening meal, drinks and, what was supposed to be a disco but turned into a karaoke – yours truly helped out on “Down in the Tube Station at Midnight”, “Sweet Caroline” and “Shang a Lang”...

Back into Edinburgh and we ended up at one of the guy’s flats – his flatmate is the son of a race horse owner or something and so the walls were festooned with autographed sports memorabilia including Pele and George Best...
Night bus home and in bed by 1 am – not too smashed...
A good day...
Highlight of the Day : Hovercrafting & Quadbiking
