A day of art and of music...

Playlist

The weather today threatened rain...

...and the rain indeed came...

Breakfast...

Once more, a beast in a lift - this time with laces tied...

Out, not bothered by the rain, as we were on a tram...

...from our point of alighting it was a short walk to the Irish National Gallery...

...where myriad pics were taken and I will let them do the talking - otherwise this entry and those following on from it, will never be published!

We went to the top floor and worked our way down...

All of the above was taken in over the course of just two hours...

Then, another tram (the rain now well gone), along to the vicinity of the IMMA (Irish Museum of Modern Art)...

...stopping off for a drink and a muffin on the way...

...before continuing on the short walk to this impressive ex military hospital and soldier pensioners' residence...

Once again, I will let the pictures do the talking...

Remember the peat briquette from yesterday's breathing exhibition?

Well...

...and out...

..and back in and down to the cellars...

...for refreshments...

...followed by two trams all the way back to the hotel...

...which used to be this...

This evening, back to the Parnell Heritage Pub for a tasty tea...

Burger for me...

Irish Stew for Anne...

Then, a walk to Parnell for the tram to Trinity...

We will visit in full tomorrow but popped in for some pics in the dark...

...before heading along to Temple Bar...

...for this evening's gig at Curveball, upstairs at the Crowbar...

...by faves Boa Morte, from Cork - performing for the first time in a couple of years...

Drinks downstairs...

...then, up and in...

The stage was ready...

...and a nice 30 minute set ensued from Pearse McGloughlin...

...and, after a short break...

...an hour long set from Boa Morte...

...in support of their new LP, out next Friday...

Absolutely first class kind of chamber/ambient/folk rock from the four piece...

Bassist and keyboardist (and occasional percussionist) Cormac had bought my "Music for Guitar and String Quartet in 18 Movements" this afternoon, much to my surprise...

After the set, we chatted with the band for a bit and I was the first person in the world to buy their new album (and bought their previous one too)...

A top night after a top day - rounded off with a bar of chocolate each enjoyed on the way home, via yet another tram...

Highlight of the Day: A day of art and of music...
