Slept in...

Till 8:45...

Probably tired after all the walking yesterday plus I had stayed up to watch "Hot Fuzz"...

At ten, over to Patisserie Florentin for the first time in a while...

..then to the market...

...where more tasty bread was procured...

Back home, this beauty of a beast was cupped in my hands and freed from a window...

More bread and pate in the garden...

And then into the "garden" beyond the walls of Crispycat Towers, Corstorphine Hill...

Our target, the building on the left...

It's open every Sunday over the summer...

A bit of a climb to the top of the hill...

...past the air traffic signal tower...

...to the one we wanted to climb...

Clattered my head on the low entry but no permanent damage I hope...

Up the stairs...

...for some spectacular views...

Looking west...

And out towards the Forth Bridges...

And eastwards into Edinburgh...

Down to Leith...

Arthur's Seat in the distance...

A reasonably high tower...

to Fife and chum Chris-with-a-Ch's pad...

The much pictured here cathedral and Venetian Tower...

In the distance, Berwick Law...

Princes Street and the North British Hotel...

Crispycat Towers...

Back down...

This stump now graces the cover of one of my albums over on Bandcamp...

A saltire in the sky...

Down the hill...

..and into the walled garden...

Opened in the week of 9/11 back in 2001...

A buzzard overhead - possibly the same one as in the film above...

An oasis of peace on Corstorphine Hill...

this a monument to a recently deceased organiser of this fabulous project...

Nicely maturing...

Pics of the early days...

...and how it looks now...

The building site is taking almost as long to be finished....

Youngsters were enjoying footie in the hot sun...

...watched by wee Rio, Meg's next door neighbour...

Some tasty soup for tea and much tidying of the cupboard in the computer room, ripping the second 20th century Box and rearranging the back room...

"The White Queen" continued to entertain...

Lights out...

Highlight of the day : Climbing the hill and climbing the tower...
