Through a tunnel and out the other side...

Playlist
Various - The Time Machine - A Vertigo Retrospective
Stockhausen - Piano Music
Various - A Blue Note Jazz Playlist
The King's Consort -
Various Composers - Masters of the Baroque
Feldman - String Quartet II

Awoke this morning with the jukebox on shuffleplay and a good track playing...

I am so blind these days I cannot read the display without my specs, so I quickly switched from shuffle to ensure that, once I awoke properly, whatever was playing would be easily findable...

Turned out to have been disc three of "Time Machine - A Vertigo Retrospective", with "Living at the End of Time" by Atlantis being the track in question...

Atlantis were, Germany's first "supergroup" apparently, and contained a couple of guys who went on to play with Udo Lindenberg...

In fact, Udo Lindenberg  played drums with the band briefly, but not on any of their albums...

I own the band's debut album, from which this track comes...

Of course I imagine most people reading this won't have a scooby who Udo Lindenberg is, so here you go...

Suffice to say the Vertigo set soundtracked the day initially,...

Including the taking of a good pic of a tunnel alongside the Assembly Rooms on George Street...

Back home, the sun was streaming through the window of the back room as I enjoyed an arrived today by post Stockhausen disc...

...seen here on the table with a similarly arrived box of baroque - sadly missing three of the seven discs it ought to have contained - an enquiry has been opened...

On telly some tennis watched, with Andy Murray reaching the Wimbledon final again...

Also started leafing through a book received as a present a few years ago - I like a list of course and this book comprises a big list of lists - playlists...

I set up the one recommended for Blue Note Jazz featuring Eric Dolphy, Jackie McLean, Tony Williams, Bobby Hutcherson, Andrew Hill, Herbie Hancock, Grachan Moncur III and Cecil Taylor...

Tasty...

As was the Exec Producer's prawn curry...

A good day...

Off to bed with Morton Feldman's six hour string quartet on the cans...

Highlight of the Day : Anne's curry...
