Fripp & Eno - (No Pussyfooting)
A bit of a day out today as I was a guest at the British Open Golf Championship at Muirfield in East Lothian...
By the time we got down there and had enjoyed breakfast at nearby Archerfield...
...and were walking through the countryside to the course....
...it was past midday...
In...
...and our first golfers - the first of many waits to cross various fairways...
The practise area...
Daredevil cameramen...
The 18th fairway...
I had not heard of many of the participants but believe Alice Cooper was not taking part...
To the 17th green...
...and along came three players I had heard of...
Faldo, Watson and Couples, the above being the last's second shot on this par five...
Back across the 18th fairway...
...and looking up to the green...
Vast open spaces with golfophiles and golfers wandering around...
All captured by these for the people back home who, truth be told, get a far better view...
To the tented village...
..and one tent in particular...
...where probably a little too much time was spent...
Another walkabout from your correspondent...
...while many people chose to watch the big screen...
...from the comfort of a giant beanbag...
..despite having paid big bucks to be here in the flesh...
Around seven, home time - the sun having scorched us all day...
A minibus back to Princes St...
...an airport bus and a lift up the hill from the Exec Producer...
Reasonably ok on the old worse-for-wear-o-meter...
Probably worse for wear than that though from an independent onlooker's perspective...
Such as those of the Exec Producer and Meg the Black Cat..
Highlight of the day : Watching some golf...
