Scorchio...

Playlist
The Soft Hills - Chromatisms
Nicola Roberts - Cinderella Eyes
Vivaldi - Masterworks

A misty start to an absolute scorcher of a day...

Shuffleplay sometimes throws out a track which impresses, yet about which I have no idea and no recollection of ever having heard it before...

So it was today with Seattle's The Soft Hills' album "Chromatisms"...

The track that pulled me in was "Payroll" - top notch...

The whole album enjoyed over lunch - by which time the sun was well and truly out...

The Soft Hills - very much recommended...

And, no longer being on shuffleplay, the player moved on to Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts' first (and so far only) solo album...

Also good - in its own way but, after a while, she was almost outstaying her welcome - brought back from the brink though by her cover of the Korgis' "Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime" and the closing track "Sticks and Stones" re the negative press she has always faced since first being selected for the group...

Back home and some tasty Broccoli and Spinach soup from Annie was enjoyed in the back garden...

Also, the Vivaldi box had arrived - ten discs of various concertos - including, I think, around the eighth or ninth version of his "Four Seasons" into the collection, which is actually just the first four concertos of a series of twelve...

The evening was mostly spent listening and ripping this new set of baroque masters...

Meanwhile, this might make a good big picture...

Highlight of the Day : Home made soup in the back garden, despite it being scorchingly hot...
