Listening today to my current top 80 recent albums, on shuffleplay, as loaded into sister Pam's old MP4 player last night...
Raining this morning for the first time since late June - scorching again by mid afternoon though...
In the evening, continued, after a lengthy hiatus, to rip my personal albums of the year 1959-2012 not already on the hard drive - ten more added...
Watched "Law & Order UK" and, later on, did some unnecessary ordering of obscure 20th Century classical music - seven titles are now winging their way towards Crispycat Towers at an average cost of under £4 per disc...
Can't say fairer than that, other than if I hadn't been so stupid as to have made the purchases...
For the record they comprise:-
- a two disc set of Henze's symphonies 1-6
- a Feldman string quartet
- solo piano music of Sofia Gubaidulina
- a disc of short pieces performed by Kronos Quartet including Cowell, Oswald and Sharp
- a piano recital disc including works by Cowell, Cage, Johnston and Nancarrow
- music for cello and piano by Prokofiev, Poulenc and Carter
- the LaSalle Quartet playing works by Lutoslawski, Cage, Penderecki and Mayuzumi
This is how I waste my time and money...
After all, I already own a goodly number of obscure 20th Century classical music CDs...
Oh well...
Lights out...
Highlight of the Day : New CDs ordered...
