So, this is my 17,350th day on the planet, the last of my 48th year on Earth and, tonight we set off on a wee break over to the West Coast of Ireland, our first trip since Italy last September...

At the airport we were delighted to find that the dining area has been completely overhauled and we bought our late afternoon meal from a place called “Eat.” – a very tasty panini and oatmeal yoghurt type thing for me...

The flight to Shannon took just over an hour and flashed by as Anne read her book and I listened to the jukebox. Apparently, I took far too mnay pictures out the window of the plane...

At Shannon we collected our hire car, the smallest possible as usual, and, this time, complete with big bash in its side...

Didn’t affect the performance though and, within 40 minutes or so we were at the pre-booked “Slattery’s B&B”, right next door to “Slattery’s Pub”...

The town of Kildimo, half an hour West of Limerick, held nothing of any great interest but was to serve as our base for a few trips...

We walked to the local garage and partook of some wine, crisps and chocolate out in the back garden as the night drew in...

As it got chillier, we moved indoors...

All ok so far...
