Touring and dolphins...

Happy birthday to me!

A great big Irish Breakfast set us up for the day and the weather was beautiful and hot...

We set out West along the coast and our first stop was this castle, Carrigafoyle...

The soundtrack was the singing and calling of the local birds...

We carried on and, around midday arrived at the small seaside town of Ballybunion, walking down to the stunning beach and strolling along, amazed at its emptiness...

Down at the water’s edge, we caught sight of a couple of dolphins gambolling in the water, just a few feet from the shore – you can just make one out in this pic...

We drove on down to the town of Tralee and stopped off for a drink in the market square to try and combat the heat – amazing weather...

Then on to the coast again and out towards a little place called Camp...

Where we stood and looked out over the bay, pointed and said “let’s go over there now” and so it was that we ended up at Fenit (not before we’d had an ice-cream stop though)...

After visiting the St Brendon Monument pointing out over the waves, we had a seat outside a little pub and enjoyed the weather and another drink...

Then on our way again and heading back North and “home”, we made a stop at the town of Listowel around half way back and enjoyed a curry for my birthday tea...

The day was rounded off with some imbibing - another bottle of wine in the back garden then, tonight, we continued into the pub next to our B&B...

Another great birthday - that makes three in a row...

Highlight of the Day : The weather, the sights, the food, the dolphins...
