Working first thing on the new LP due next Friday...

...then, compiling a list of the number one singles on each of Anne's birthdays from 1961 till tomorrow...

Breakfast...

And some records to play...

Seven randomly chosen, the first three were eventually played as my last listening of the day...

Anne was out somewhere or other - it's Sunday as I write this and I can't remember - but she brought back Belgian Chocolate Éclairs...

Which were nice...

This evening, recorded the links for the weekend's podcast..

Also, assistance sought of me by Edward Spark re when his debut EP might have been issued and if I had the artwork...

I found this on the old version of the Crispycat site...

...and so was able to advise its release date was 10 October 2005...

Then, I managed to locate my copy...

...and scanned the artwork to him - but it turns out my artwork was an early version...

Later, I found a blog entry with the art he was looking for...

It's all good...

The 61 track playlist of Anne's No 1s 1961-2021 was completed...

On telly this evening, a "Call My Agent" (of course) and part 2 of "The Investigation" - no wait, that was tomorrow...

Well, "Call My Agent" and "Death in Paradise" and "Scot Squad" - that was it...

OK, lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Compiling...

"Peking, Oppenheimer and Time" - another 6 minute track, involving elements of “Requiem for M Oppenheimer (1995)” and “Time Overcome by Hope, Love and Beauty (1627)”, both from “Disquetmusik III”, plus a found short wave radio recording of Radio Peking (6 November 1970) and rhythm bed...

Enjoyable...

Also refined the line up for the podcast...

Blue Nile-esque, new pop, solo Tubes, Joni covers, Motorik jams, New prog, Fado, Live Wood n Harley, Be Bop Deluxe covers, Beatles covers, the Bach boys and another new thing from CBQ...

WFH...

Anne was out at the Botanics with Lynn, so no telly at lunchtime today...

Back to WFH...

Yet another tasty tea from Anne - is there any other kind...

No...

A couple of "Superstore" episodes...

Today was Mozart's 265th birthday - so I looked to choose something to play...

...and dug out all these...

...and chose this...

..before heading back down for this week's "The Bay" - getting interesting...

Late on, another "Call My Agent" - best thing we watch right now - and there is a lot of competition...

Up with an idea and to work...

A new CBQ record for February release - I have been creating a new piece each week to put in the podcasts - so why not put them together (with a couple of alternates to flesh it out to LP size)...

A new track created this morning...

"The Escorial Conscience Reservoir" - 6:15 of fun comprising elements of “The Immaculate Conception of the Escorial (1678)” from “Disquietmusik I”, “The Awakening Conscience (1853)” from “Disquetmusik II” and “Reservoir (1961)” from “Disquetmusik III”, with judicious treatments and a rhythm bed...

The rest of the day was spent WFH...

"Call My Agent" at lunchtime...

A baked potato for tea...

Some new music downloaded...

"Holby City" this evening and a shocker - looks like Jac is leaving...

That hospital is pretty lax for the number of times people have brought guns in and shot people...

Oh well - it's a soap...

Lights out...

It's Monday morning and the weeks are just starting to meld into each other...

But, I'm on holiday today...

Or was supposed to be...

As ever, "something came up"...

So, I was on holiday this afternoon...

Anyway, I was up early - quelle surprise...

Plugged in...

Ready for some kunst...

I did not play these but pictured them...

A nice morning - very cold still and the snow is lingering...

Anne's latest is coming along at pace...

Much less finicky than those derived from our own photos...

Random LP of the Day was the last of my 15 vinyl albums by Francoise Hardy...

This, a compilation released in the UK in 1968, featuring 10 tracks taken from her LPs from 1962 and 1964...

10 tracks but just 21minutes long...

Still very good despite this short length...

A couple of bits of bread were broken up and chucked out the window for our furry and feathered friends...

Anne was sceptical but, soon...

...and, later, it was all gone - the spot where the bread had lain, was covered in the footprints of the big pigeons...

A discussion on Twitter on the relative merits of Weather Report, Return to Forever and the Mahavishnu Orchestra - whom I dub "The Triumvirate of Fusion"...

I have all their studio albums...

They range from the heaviness (in places) of MO, through the jazziness of RTF, out to the wider, kind of all encompassing range of WR...

So, having all 3 is the best position of course but, depending on your mood, you can turn to any of them at the right time...

Out for an annual trip...

I waited in the car, listening to a piano recital from the Wigmore Hall on Radio 3 - I wonder if we will ever be able to return...

Goodies purchased on the way home, in the form of an unpictured chocolate donut for the EP and a German biscuit for your correspondent...

Enjoyed with some coffee and some "Call My Agent"...

Back home, the long list for this week's podcast stretched to over 80 tracks...

Whilst I listened to quite a few of them, the EP prepped a lovely lamb casserole...

We were hopeless on "University Challenge" tonight, coming a very poor third indeed - we got no starters at all so, had we been on the programme, would have scored zero.  In the event, we managed around 55 points...

The rest of the evening drifted by...

That was Monday...

Highlight of the Day : Afternoon holiday...
