It's Monday morning and the weeks are just starting to meld into each other...
But, I'm on holiday today...
Or was supposed to be...
As ever, "something came up"...
So, I was on holiday this afternoon...
Anyway, I was up early - quelle surprise...
Plugged in...
Ready for some kunst...
I did not play these but pictured them...
A nice morning - very cold still and the snow is lingering...
Anne's latest is coming along at pace...
Much less finicky than those derived from our own photos...
Random LP of the Day was the last of my 15 vinyl albums by Francoise Hardy...
This, a compilation released in the UK in 1968, featuring 10 tracks taken from her LPs from 1962 and 1964...
10 tracks but just 21minutes long...
Still very good despite this short length...
A couple of bits of bread were broken up and chucked out the window for our furry and feathered friends...
Anne was sceptical but, soon...
...and, later, it was all gone - the spot where the bread had lain, was covered in the footprints of the big pigeons...
A discussion on Twitter on the relative merits of Weather Report, Return to Forever and the Mahavishnu Orchestra - whom I dub "The Triumvirate of Fusion"...
I have all their studio albums...
They range from the heaviness (in places) of MO, through the jazziness of RTF, out to the wider, kind of all encompassing range of WR...
So, having all 3 is the best position of course but, depending on your mood, you can turn to any of them at the right time...
Out for an annual trip...
I waited in the car, listening to a piano recital from the Wigmore Hall on Radio 3 - I wonder if we will ever be able to return...
Goodies purchased on the way home, in the form of an unpictured chocolate donut for the EP and a German biscuit for your correspondent...
Enjoyed with some coffee and some "Call My Agent"...
Back home, the long list for this week's podcast stretched to over 80 tracks...
Whilst I listened to quite a few of them, the EP prepped a lovely lamb casserole...
We were hopeless on "University Challenge" tonight, coming a very poor third indeed - we got no starters at all so, had we been on the programme, would have scored zero. In the event, we managed around 55 points...
The rest of the evening drifted by...
That was Monday...
Highlight of the Day : Afternoon holiday...
