Just after midnight, first play of 2021...
Up seven and a half hours later and 2021 merely continues where 2020 left off...
At 10:15, the New Year's Day concert from Vienna...
...this year though, with no audience in the hall...
The interlude with the chamber pieces including a Haydn string quartet was the best part for me, even surpassing the usual highlights of "The Blue Danube" and the "The Radetsky March"...
The squirrel breakfasted while we listened...
Then it was over...
...with applause from the online audience...
I wonder if there'll be an audience in the hall this time next year...
The concert influenced my LP of the Day, for once not a random choice...
I listened to the digital version as I drove over to wish my mum a Happy New Year...
..and bought a couple of scones on the way back...
Fang popped by - our first foot...
...and the cat calendar was swopped for 2021...
Excellent tea from Annie - lamb burgers with all the trimmings...
...and some telly, no doubt...
I also started building a classical playlist based on the Clemency Burton-Hill book received a week ago...
