Sunday...

Again...

The beast was looking out the window...

..and, while the machines whirred into life...

...it looked out another window...

...and then went downstairs, checking the latest progress on its Executive Producer's painting...

...and fetching some coffee...

The secret phrase from this week's podcast has been uttered - which is good...

Anne was up and so we headed for the shopping...

..and back home in the minus 4 degrees cold for breakfast at home...

The squirrel was breakfasting too, including some apple...

Random LPs of the Day for Friday, yesterday and today were enjoyed in one sitting...

“Dune OST”...

Mainly Toto, or rather an orchestra plus Toto - it's not songs - it's definitely not "Africa"...

But there is one sublime Brian Eno track, "Prophecy Theme", which closes side one, recorded with Roger Eno and Dan Lanois...

Side two reminded me of another reason CDs are better than vinyl...

It is ever so slightly mispressed so that the centre is off...

Next, Fee Waybill of the Tubes...

This could’ve been the follow up to The Tubes’ “Outside Inside” but the band went with Todd Rundgren rather than David Foster, who produced this 1984 release....

Once again, Todd got them fired...

Sounds exactly like the Tubes at their best (in commercial terms)...

The beast was enjoying some records...

Last for today and getting things up to date...

From 1960 and picked up for a quid a couple of years ago, Coleman Hawkins, decades into his career, still cuts it...

The 7th release in the “Moodsville” series for Prestige...

...with Tommy Flanagan, Wendell Marshall & Osie Johnson...

Relaxin’...

Post lunch and two episodes of "Superstone", out to my mum's...

In good form - particularly proud of beating contestants to the answers on quiz shows...

Back home, the squirrel was back...

Sorting out the last couple of days' downloads, which included a new album from last year by Mr Waybill, of which I had no previous knowledge - plus albums from other Tubes alumni Roger Steen and Bill Spooner (the Blue Nile items are the extra tracks from the DeLuxe editions)...

A good day, music-wise...

Meanwhile, Anne did what she does brilliantly...

Yumtastic and, no, the ketchup did not ruin it...

An episode of "Call the Agent" and the 2nd of "Finding Alice" entertained - as did using the Betron ear buds I bought back in May to sample a few of the new acquisitions...

Weekend over...

Lights out...

Highlight of the day : New Fee Waybill I did not now about...

Love the squirrel pics. Looks like you're playing more viynll, vynil, vinyll contrary to all you've ever said about said format. Life is funny. Hope you're well. Miss you.

Hi Stu - it's "vinyl". I've been, since May, trying to play 1 LP a day from my collection. This daft project will end in March - I have around 40 LPs still to play. Then, I suppose, I could play all my 7" and 12" singles... I bought a nice turntable last February, as my previous one went up the spout. Trying to get my money's worth - as ever!. Missing you too but still putting your jingles in the show when I remember. Used your "celebrity" ones a couple of weeks ago. Fucking tumbleweeds from the "listeners". Oh well. Life is indeed, funny. Take care my guitaring chum! xx

I'm still practicing. I can never remember how to spell vinyl. Good to hear you're busying yourself....ooer. I'm still listening to Mixcloud. I have a little speaker...ooer which i listen to things through now (my amplifier has died and was tossed in Stobhill dump last year). Youtube player mostly. Mixcloud also. Your show, Sunday Ramble and the Beatcroft social by Tom Morton. I bought something on Bandcamp the other day. A girl singing The Mountain Goats who i love. Something different. Anne's painting's are very good. Take care chum.

I think you're the only one of the quintet practising - but it's good that you are. Let me know if you need a loan of an amp and speakers to tide you over - Cheers Stu!
