Happy 96th birthday to my dad, gone since 2003...
Here, on holiday in Arran in 1966, me, sister Sheila, my dad's mum and dad and a 36 year old me look-a-like...
I was up before 7:30...
...and writing this, soundtracked by Mosolov...
Breakfast, some more "work", soundtracked by a Purcell CD bought a year ago today at FourSquare, then, took Anne to Zumba and headed for the gym...
Did the usual amount of leg presses but, today, also spent some time on the treadmill...
Maybe I should get a treadmill desk?
Out...
Inspired by the Purcell disc and having not been there for ages, decided to pop to FourSquare instead of going straight home...
The other day, for a reason I can no longer recall, I was reading my entry here from 12 May 2007 "An Exciting Box...", where I wrote about having purchased a number of these, long since discontinued, Trissa boxes from Ikea (which I still use)...
Imagine my surprise then to find four of them at FourSquare when I walked in - quickly nabbed at £3 each...
Home and initial set up...
...and purchases enjoyed and ripped...
"The Shelf" was now ensconced in two Ikea Trissas...
On Anne's return, lunch and two "Chicago PD"s, missing the 4th episode of the Season, as Prime were insisting we buy it...
Neither the Jackdaw nor the Magpie could understand Amazon's thinking...
No, wait, it is because they are money grabbing bastards...
A rearrangement was made...
"The Shelf" is now the top row...
Doublers and ex-selling on Amazon CDs are at the bottom...
...which freed up space amongst the classical and jazz digipacks...
Tea tonight, fish and chips (and peas)...
...and a "Bones", before Anne headed to Tynecastle to see Hearts go down to 10 men after 15 minutes but still beat St Mirren 2-0 to stay 6 points clear at the top of the league...
Meanwhile, I watched Ricky Gervais' "Mortality", which was merely "ok" but did raise a few million quid for animal charities, so I'm not complaining...
Spent some time checking the bank re an alert Anne received on her phone at the game - almost certainly a scam...
Annoying but, hopefully, no harm done...
Upstairs, today's CD box...
More Beethoven...
The Brodsky’s 3CD set recorded 1999/00...
...it juxtaposes Herr B’s six Op 18 quartets with six commissioned “reflection” quartets...
Here, the thinking....
Extra quartets are by Alvarez, Jegede, Tanaka, Beamish, Smirnov & Firsova…
Excellent...
Anne arrived back and the highlights were watched pre bed around 11:45...
Highlight of the Day: Finding boxes...
