Me?
I just potter around, seven days a week...
Played some David Bowie first thing, given it's his birthday today - he would have been 79...
Other than that, the diary writing and other music listening pre breakfast...
...which included my second CD box pick...
This...
...bought in Hamburg in late 2019...
Delightful...
Just as its 45 minute duration expired, it was breakfast time but, today, given Anne's free status we were off out for the first meal of the day...
Scenes, as we made our way down the hill...
...to Cafe Vigo for a slap up - I took the comparatively healthy option...
Some shopping by Anne and a visit to a couple of chazzas for me...
Then, a bus up the hill...
..and a walk down to Crispycat Towers...
It was cold...
My first CD purchase of the year...
5CD box, much praised in reviews, for just £3...
My remainder of the late morning/early afternoon soundtrack...
...while I decided it was time to finally get round to some filing...
These have left "The Shelf" over the last few months, as new stuff has arrived...
Firstly into categories...
Then, each category into alpha order...
16 piles. L-R: Various Artist Comps (2); Rock & Pop A-Z; Rock & Pop Digipaks A-Z (2); Soundtracks; Card Sleeves; Jazz A-Z; Jazz Box Sets; Jazz Digipaks; Classical Artists A-Z; Classical Artists Digipak A-Z; Composers Digipak A-Z; Composers A-Z; Various Composer Comps; Classical Box Sets…
Very little actually achieved pre lunch...
Home made soup and a corned beef roll - yum..
Then "David Bowie: The Final Act" - a superb documentary...
Insightful, with almost all the "talking heads" having been close collaborators...
And so very moving - had me close to tears in quite a few places...
Hard to believe he's been gone for 10 years...
Such a very sad ending but such a way for a true artist to leave the “stage”…
Fang popped by to cheer us up...
Then, back to the filing...
With soundtracking...
By the end of my session, I was probably about halfway through the 170+ items....
Still to do, maybe tomorrow: Various Artist Comps; Rock & Pop Digipaks A-Z; Jazz A-Z; Jazz Box Sets; Jazz Digipaks; Composers Digipak A-Z; Classical Box Sets…
BPI figures on 2025 physical sales in the UK:-
CD 9.7m units
Vinyl 7.6m units
Other formats 0.33m units
Total sales of physical formats up 4.9% versus 2024
CDs still outselling vinyl by 27.6%
A light tea of an old favourite from my childhood (sadly, or maybe not sadly, unpictured)...
Corned beef and beans...
This evening, a very funny indeed new thing (a rarity these days), was Dawn French and Mark Heap in "Can you Keep A Secret?"...
First two episodes enjoyed, including one of the funniest scenes I've watched in along time...
Anyway, after that, a couple of "Bones" (The Gravedigger finally revealed and caught), dishes and a last thing today downloading session...
To bed at midnight...
Highlight of the Day: Out for breakfast and, funnily enough, filing...
