A fairly lazy Sunday...
Started, as do most days, in the dark...
...just after six...
Scenes from the office...
Gave "The Sweet Thrill of Industry" a wee spin on its 45th birthday...
Then, played through the majority of the line up for this week's podcast...
Some time spent tidying various playlists - including my "LP a Month" (since I was born) playlist and botching up my "Track A Month" (since I was born) playlist by getting it out of its delicate order...
Oh well...
Some tracks from LPs of the Month for Januarys from 1959 to 1974 enjoyed...
Ideal Sunday lunchtime listening - 2LPs from the great Elvin Jones, on Impulse, released 1963 & 1965…
Home made soup for lunch, then, Anne was off to see her mum...
Some new heavy metal, courtesy Prog Rock Willie, soundtracked the dishes being washed, dried and put away...
Then, back up stairs and difficult listening hour ensued, with this gem, picked up for 3 Euros on Berlin’s Kastanienallee last August. Very much one of those “you have to be in the right mood to listen” releases. Luckily, I was in the right mood…
Back room looking good post a furniture shuffle and tidy up...
Then, difficult listening continued with “New (ok, 11 years old) Music From Latvia” - very interesting pieces by six composers, born between 1974 & 1985, by whom, I’m reasonably confident, I have no other works…
Superb music!
The scene at the listening station - my AKG 702s doing the trick...
Downstairs, on Anne's return...
...some Cab Sauv and some TV watching/new LP listening to on the BluTooth nutphones...
...a tasty prawn and broccoli pasta from Anne for tea...
Yowsah!
Later on, with no TV highlights for me, back upstairs and some box sets sampled in the back room..
Amazing what Ministry of Sound was trying to punt back in 2004 - e.g. an MP3 player with 1.5GB storage capacity for, get this, £170...
Anyway, onwards...
...all of which took us to the end of the weekend...
Highlight of the Day : Playing records...
