Up at 6 and to work...
Soundtracked by more CDs which left the shelf yesterday...
I'd decided, on awakening, on a new format for the podcasts and, so, needed to amend the playlist from yesterday...
From now, I'll open with a CBQ related track (cos, often, the first track is the only one people will hear), then, my 7 New LPs of the Day, then my 7 Older LPs of the Day and then, 10 tracks from records chosen at random from my "Red Books of CDs I Qwn"...
I'm hoping too that, given I only really "need" 14 new tracks a week, I can perhaps cut down a bit on my downloading...
(Dream on, Dave!)
There we go...
Scenes...
Changed the wallpaper on the machines too...
Liking the silver plate from mum's house - almost all that's left...
At noon, we will be half way through January...
Back to the machines at 9 and the playlist finalised...
I needed to rip a Pet Shop Boys CD single which came up in the selection - here, the ten...
6530 Various - New Blue Horns (Dec 2011)
6431 Julliard Quartet - Schubert String Quartets 12-15 (Sept 2011)
9403 Locatelli - L'arte del violino (Mar 2018)
8855 Thelonious Monk - Ken Burns Jazz (Mar 2017)
9038 Lou Donaldson & The Three Sounds - LD+3 (Jun 2017)
11864 BBC Singers - Lamentations (Sept 2023)
10060 Various Composers - Millennium (1950-2000) Klangreise (Oct 2019)

3907 Various - Sounds of the 70s - 1967 (Jan 2005)
9475 Uriah Heep - Living the Dream (Sept 2018)
Which will be the pile for this week's #CDFRiday...
Recorded the links quickly...
Took Anne to her Zumba class, with the boot loaded with goodies for charity...
Was intending going back to the Meadows place where we'd left the books and cassettes last week but, just as I was passing FourSquare, I thought, mum would have liked her stuff to go to a Marie Curie Hospice shop...
So, I pulled into the car park and looked up their locations...
There was one in Corstorphine...
Of course, I was lured into FourSquare by their big display of CDs, of which I had partaken a few yesterday...
And so, today, 20 titles for £6...
To the Marie Curie but, sadly, they are full to the gunwhales of stuff and couldn't take anything - so, to the Meadows as originally planned...
They took everything except mum and dad's hifi - a nice Sony machine with double CD set up, Mini Disc and Cassette and Radio all on board...
Back to Corstorphine and handed it in to the Cancer Research shop, where I'd bought the DVD player last week for £8...
Boot empty at last and home for lunch with Anne and this week's two episodes of "Silent Witness" - might well have been the best one for a while - very little of them doing what, really, police people would do...
Then, Anne was off out to see her mum...
I put together the podcast...
New cover design, incorporating both the source recordings and a contemporaneous pic - this week, the view from my old bedroom...
Listened back while commencing the ripping of today's acquisitions...
Just 30p each...
Amazing...
Erm... One for the end of the year...
Tasty tea from Anne, the crunchy broccoli a masterstroke...
The ripping continued into the late evening and, by this time, was soundtracked by the first of the rippees...
A table booked for a cheeky wee lunch tomorrow which will be post a visit to see Bob's mum...
Bed at, you guessed it, midnight...
Highlight of the Day : 20 titles for £6...
