The birthday today of David Bowie and Elvis Presley - so I started the day with (a) "The Wonder of You", the first single I bought with my own money, back in 1970 and (b) "Drive-In Saturday" the single that was Exec Producer's and my first dance at our wedding, back in 1983...
So, that was good...
Writing this and starting another Fripp Whirring Session...
Some original Simple Minds (they only made 4 LPs with the original line up) then dipping into the, now, two CBQ & Edward Spark LPs...
Breakfast...
We loaded up the car and took a load of unpictured stuff from the attic to the dump, including the two fluorescent striplights we used in the window of Reptile Records in the 1990s (and which had been kept for over 30 years, with the thought that they could be used in a live performance at some point)...
So it goes...
Petrol and provisions from Tesco on the way back...
Home for coffee and to sort a problem re TalkTalk and our phone (half hourly no number calls to our landline every 30 minutes for a couple of weeks now) which was a very frustrating but ultimately, reasonably simple task - they reconfigured our router remotely - apparently...
A "Bosch"...
Lunch - home made soup and home made coleslaw - this time including apple...
Correspondence with the photographer and surveyor and all sorted for their visits to mum's house on Friday...
Correspondence with bassist Keith re the quality or otherwise of the recordings I've provided to the band re our learning of the original canon...
Not much I can do really...
I've tried my best and put a shitload of work into the project already, before the band's even played a note...
Anne was off to see her mum...
Me?
I recorded the first podcast of 2025 - in all, my 700th show!
LP of the week (Hellbach)
6 more LPs of the day
2 new CBQ covers - Velvets & Eno
One of my dad's old cassettes
2 Dutch things
5 newly acquired CDs
4 other new items
No rules, except, broaden your horizons!
Forgot to put anything in from the new LP out tomorrow...
Oh well...
Today was not only David Bowie and Elvis Presley's birthday but, also, that of Shirley Bassey, Stephen Hawking, William Hartnell, Roy Kinnear, Ron Moody, Graham Chapman, Dennis Wheatley, Gypsy Rose Lee, Ron Sexsmith, Jose Ferrer and Robby Krieger...
Small world...
That part of which, which is Los Angeles, is burning...
Here a very top tea was prepped by the EP...
Smoked Salmon and Prawn Tagliatelle...
Beautiful...
The shelf was brought up to date...

Soon...
More "Bosch" tonight and news from nephew Olly that he just missed out on the Statistical analyst job at StarLizard...
Which is, probably, for the best...
Betting is not good...
He will find his niche...
To bed at 11:15. leaving Fripp whirring overnight...
Highlight of the Day: Anne's pasta...
