Scenes from the back room - where I probably don't spend enough time (i.e. away from the computer and working)...

Outside the street was awaking...

...as I, inevitably, fired up the machines...

...at the start of the weekend...

...although, to be fair, the weekend probably really starts first thing on a Friday morning...

Worked on the Lockie project, creating a couple of "7 Inch Mixes"...

At 9:25, post Anne's also up-ness, I wandered downstairs, forgetting her shout last night that, today, we would be enjoying pancakes for breakfast...

...and so, her she was, baking away...

I set up both speakers, for a change...

...the cooking continued...

In all...

...it took...

..around an hour until the pancakes were delivered to the table...

But...

...adorned with bananas and Maple Syrup, they were worth the wait...

A meet up with Stu Cobley out at Straiton at 10:30 - I needed to be at Loanhead for a viewing later...

Jeans for SC at Next plus two CDs from me - doubles of Trio HLK and a 3CD Jackie comp - then, to Dunelm for coffee and chat...

Sadly, his old mum is in hospital post a fall...

The mothers of the Capital Models are not having a good time of it...

Pots were also required , to replace those which have had to be gotten rid of re an induction hob...

Nutter in Dunelm alert...

Farewell to Stu, then, to Loanhead and I sat outside the house in the relative warmth of the car, listening to my work over the last couple of days with Lockie's piano piece...

The couple arrived early, with their two wee kids in tow...

If they buy the house I pity my mum's neighbours re the racket the kids made running and stomping around the house...

In all, the visit lasted just 8 minutes and I was out and heading home at 14:01...

Anne was at Pickleball and this had arrived...

The book referenced by Roger Waters in his Redux of "The Dark Side of the Moon" - my favourite LP of 2023...

All the way from Indiana...

I set up a record and had just put the needle on and was settling down for a read...

...when Anne and Lynn arrived back...

Coffee enjoyed and a visit from Fang...

...as so often these days, for just long enough to nab some Dreamies...

On Lynn's departure, back upstairs and sourced all the pieces set to be played in a recital tonight, which we would attend with Dr Prog...

Bach: Three-Part Invention No.3 in D major...

Bach: Partita No,1 in Bb major...

Mozart: Sonata in Bb major K570...

Schubert: Impromptus Nos.2 & 3 from D935...

Brahms: Intermezzi Nos 1 & 2 from Op.118...

Post some home made soup and a tuna roll, we were off to the Edinburgh Society of Musicians...

...where Dr Prog arrived a matter of seconds after us...

An enjoyable evening of piano was on the cards...

...in lovely surroundings...

...with free coffees and biscuits at the interval...

I waited until the end of the recital to snap tonight's performer, Bruce Thomson - who had stepped in at the last moment when the scheduled guitar duo had had to pull out...

Towards ten, out into the dark...

Some chat with the Doc before he headed home on foot, eschewing our offer of a lift...

Fang met me at the back gate and came in briefly but exited again when he realised he'd had his Dreamie ration for today...

Highlights of Queens losing 3-1 to St Mirren in Dumfries...

At 2-1 in injury time they ought to have had a penalty - instead, St Mirren broke from the elbow in the face tackle and went up and scored their third...

And so, once again, concentrating on the league...

Highlight of the Day : Pancakes, rendezvous and piano...
